Meaningless. Just another pointless gesture from Corp Dems to give the Proud Girl Dad 2023 Father Limited Edition Fathers Day T-Shirt besides I will buy this appearance that they are doing something. I have read several of the several hundred comments here and thankfully no one has (yet) said this is a reason to pack the Supreme Court with more justices. Thank you reasonable Reddit commenters. Anyone else think the “leak” was done just to get media attention ahead of the midterms and pass this bill? All for abortion rights but seems concocted by the dems…. Most recent attempt passed the house in September and was filibustered in the Senate in March. That same bill is being reintroduced. Honestly if Roe vs Wade is repealed that means it goes back to the states and the Senate vote wouldn’t matter since it’s not a federal controlled anymore. Legally speaking this isn’t going to work at all. Ha. Nice publicity stunt, but this isn’t going to save Schumer from becoming the minority leader in the fall. Glad to see them spending their time so wisely… This law would still be unconstitutional and would still be struck down all their doing is wasting time And tax dollars. why can’t the states decide? I mean i am personally pro abortion but if some states want to place restrictions based upon their own preferences, why is that such a problem?

Because state governments should have absolutely zero say in anything that happens to anyones body. No government has the Proud Girl Dad 2023 Father Limited Edition Fathers Day T-Shirt besides I will buy this right to dictate what someone does with their body. To cater to someone else’s beliefs you strip the rights away from someone else. That is not what America was supposed to be about. If the law says every medical facility has to provide abortions regardless of religious affiliation, it’ll get overturned. It’s a religious belief and the rulings in a situation like this are pretty clear. Fulton v City of Philadelphia was 2021 case that said Catholic adoption agencies couldn’t be forced to work with LGBT parents and it was a 9-0 ruling. Schumer still doesn’t get that there is no floor on the R side. Performative bullshit like this will probably just get them more voters for not using their power to actually fucking DO SOMETHING. What power to do something are you referring to here? They are putting it to a vote. That’s about the extend of Senate Democrats. What would you expect them to do instead?
