That being said, the way I’ve always been able to get good raises was to ask my boss what was his/her advice for what I need to do to get a raise is and how long If I did said thing would it take to reach that goal. If it was reasonable, I would follow the advice and usually get a raise fairly quickly. If it wasn’t reasonable I would start putting in applications and go find a new job which I did on 2 separate occasions and ended up getting jobs making more money. Bad music in the coffee shop thing is funny but also passive aggressive and ultimately probably won’t help you have a better life. TBH if a coffee shop played this I’d probably be a regular there, but I think most people would react differently…
