Every “this is a negative” I’ve seen was said of things before Social Media too. And in 100 years they’ll be saying they’re because of whatever new tech exists then. Meanwhile social media gives lonely isolated people access to the PRIMORDIAL WORLD Super Shirt But I will love this rest of humanity. For me for example I work nights. Sites like Reddit allow me to connect withe people when my time off is either when most people in my city are at work or sleeping. I get where you’re going and agree but lets face it, a lot of lonely isolated people should have stayed lonely and isolated. Fair but most are isolated not due to bigotry but due to age, poverty, work schedules and the like. Bigots were recruited before social media too. But having chatrooms when I was a teen kept me off of drugs, out of cults and off the streets when I was lonely and probably would have gotten myself into some serious shit. The world was more real for sure but it was a small world than it is now through social media. As far as the negatives go, it for sure has a negative effect on our personality, self esteem and what not but that’s something we’ll figure out in the next few years like we’ve always done with new inventions and discoveries. Social media is fine. The need for it to make and grow profits is the real issue. As usual, greed (American Capitalism) took a great concept and perverted it. No. In the 90s all the young slackers have been looking for fun by harassing people on the street, i’ve been robbed probably 10 times in my teens, friend of mine almost lost his eye, and my female friends have been afraid to travel alone by train – now the new generation sit at home, play cs:go and jerk off to OF.
