Truly happy for you. Here comes the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this but…not everyone meets that person or has that experience. Cherish but dont assume everyone can or will have that same experience. I used to get lots of unsolicited advice from coworkers (usually older guys) before I got married. Most of it was bullshit, but the one that stuck with me was from a random UPS pilot when I was hitching a ride to work. I told him I had just gotten engaged. He said “I know you’re probably hearing all kinds of unwanted advice, but hear me out. She’ll become your wife, but make sure she’s always your girlfriend too. All the things you’re doing now because you want to make her happy like spontaneous flowers and making plans for date night, keep doing those.”

Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt: Express with Style

I forget how long he said he’d been married, but we are about to hit year 15 and I have no complaints. It’s great to know that I can have the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this worst day ever and even if it’s entirely my own doing, I’ve got someone in my corner who will help me pick up the pieces and figure out a way forward. My theory on why so many people are unhappily married is that people stop making themselves (both personally and the relationship) a priority. We don’t have kids, but I think in a lot of cases the focus goes squarely on the kids. That’s understandable, but hobbies, friends, and relationships suffer if you don’t make time for them. Eventually your entire identity is being a parent and whatever you do for a living.
I was one of four kids growing up and my parents did a great job, but they neglected themselves to the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this point that even though we are all grown ass adults and long out of the house, they still find themselves lost on what to do with their lives. I suspect these old guys were from an era when men were encouraged to “just” get married, and they hastily got married or knocked someone up. There is endless evidence that married men are happier, financially better off, healthier, etc. Anecdotally I am married and couldn’t imagine not being married. Having a family gives my life purpose. The evidence could just as likely prove that men that are happy, financially better off and healthier have a significant edge in the dating and marriage market. Or that the attributes inherent to such men produce marriegable men, which in and of itself is seems patently obvious.

Step by step to buy Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt

Every generation will have a significant portion of men being sorted out of the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this marriage scene for the above mentioned reasons. Men who are single, divorced, or become widowers have a lower happiness score than men who are married. Women who are single, divorced, or become widows have a higher happiness score. Trying to just get married for the “benefits” of marriage is a fools errand, the marriage is a result of a good long term relationship. Your view lacks any nuance of a situation. No person is successful based entirely upon themselves. Success is a result of both personal hard work and external support from family, friends and for those married their spouses. Some men maybe do not get support from their spouse, but many do. Many are able to do what they do because of said support.
Many many men are not successful before being in a marriage just as many are successful going into a marriage. There are lots of different flavours and types or relationships. But i can guarantee you, no man is successful on their own back entirely. Even if they can’t or don’t want to recognise all the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this help form others they’ve had along the way. This is exactly what I try to tell everyone. If a train wreck of a man who can’t hold down a job, is thousands of dollars deep in gambling debt, and doesn’t take care of himself somehow gets married, he’s not going to magically transform into some successful family man. This is why I tell younger guys: focus on yourself first and become happy, healthy, and financially better off before you think about marriage. Actually, the advice of telling young men to get married because “it will cause you to make more money, become healthier, happier, and so on” could very well be harmful as it places unrealistic expectations and burdens on his partner. I excused my abusive ex because I was young and naive. I thought he just needed time since he came from a bad childhood and bad family. I was so blind and now that I’m away from him I see so so much more clearly, and I married someone with deep issues and someone who enjoyed hurting me and got a kick seeing me in emotional and physical pain.
people rarely change. People don’t change unless they themselves want to change. Most importantly, you can’t change or fix them and offering help to someone who doesn’t want it won’t change anything as well.. We met when we were 13, talked all the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this time until 20, I told her I always had a crush on her and she said the same, we started dating, then 5 years later we got married. I’ve heard that women marry for love and men marry whoever is near because they’re just ready to be married. I can’t think of a bigger recipe for disaster lol Honestly I could believe this. I’ve known countless men in a longterm relationship, never proposed, then once it ends they immediately/quickly move on and marry the next woman. Now maybe they just found a more compatible woman next but I think some just feel like okay now I need to get married so they do.
And by “ready to be married” you mean tired of washing their own dishes and eating jimmy dean sandwiches for breakfast This exactly. I feel like I didn’t fully mature as a person until age 35 and also marriage was never a life goal of mine so I was never quick to think about that in a relationship. Now I’m 38 and will be proposing this year. When you meet the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this right person you will know. essentially, So long as you hold “never get married” as your bedrock you’ll know that if you ever meet someone that makes you say “fuck that rule” they must be goddamn special. As a fellow old man there are definitely women that stand out above the rest but even those ended up turning sour eventually. The key is to find someone you can make mistakes with but love, be loved, and make better mistakes tomorrow with. Ever since my first long term relationship, I’ve always said I have to be convinced to dive all the way in. Be skeptical at first but not unnecessarily stubborn. Being married should not be a goal in and of itself, though some people treat it like that. There’s no time limit. If it happens, it happens. Even then you don’t need to get married. I’ve been with the same woman for 16 years. We never bothered getting married.
Yep. I got engaged to a girl because that’s what you just do in long term relationships, right? That’s what both our families sure as hell pushed us to as well. Half a year into the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this engagement, shit happened and we broke up. The sense of relief that I felt. It took me a long time to come to terms with why I felt that way, but we were not right for each other. its also important to understand the different kinds of “Don’t want to be without” There is the obsessive infatuation from when you’re a teenager that gives literal emotional highs just from being near them and then there is the recognizing they are a deep supportive, close, personal, friend as well. I never wanted to get married. And neither did my wife. Here we are about to have our 10th anniversary at 40 years old. Life is good. Yeah I never intended on getting married. But I always wanted a relationship. Ended up with a girl forever. Eventually had a kid and then we figured we should be married. No regrets so far.
This. I saw another thread asking older men for advice for men in their 20s just yesterday. All of the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this top comments said, “don’t get married”. I’m a woman in my late 20s but I’ll say that I’ve dated men in their 40s who’d never been married (or had been divorced for 10+ years) and they all were very eager to get married and have kids. I know that’s not a unanimous sentiment by any means but there’s a lot of overlooking what could be missed when you purposefully foregoes making that commitment to someone for 10-20 years. They all mentioned that they were worried they’d miss out on more of their kids lives or not be able to keep up with them, that other people had been able to grow and basically had an “accountability buddy” in adulthood via marriage, and they expressed regret at prioritizing their career and then having no one to enjoy it with.
If you see marriage as a good thing with the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this right person, then there’s no need to delay it for too long just for the hell of it. There’s a reason why people say, “My one regret is not meeting you sooner”. I was about to say, I swore off marriage after my ex wife just up and bounced, and especially so when showed back and forced into a 50/50 custody agreement. But then I met my current wife, realized she’s a keeper and felt so hopeful about life after we got married. This is a better way to look at is. I’ve been married and divorced, so yeah, I know. Lol. Will I harry again? Not gonna say it wouldn’t happen, I’m just not actively seeking marriage. Not what I want and need right now, but it’s possible. How long have you been married and what is the benefit of marriage over a long term monogamous relationship with her?
16 years married. We’d both been in long-term relationships before we got together, which may be a factor – we clicked so well that it wasn’t like previous relationships, and we wanted to celebrate that. The biggest thing for me was the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt moreover I will buy this realisation that I wanted to share my life with this amazing person and share everything with her. It’s not something I’d really experienced in previous relationships. Benefit wise, there’s some tax and administrative benefits. If I ended up in the hospital, she has the power to make decisions if I can’t, and I’d trust her choices. People choose the wrong person and marry too soon due to pressure from friends or family OR they mistake lust for love and move too fast.
Until you find someone that you can openly talk to about money, sex (like really detailed things without getting embarrassed) and things that upset you, don’t do it. Seriously, if you cant talk to your partner about something you don’t like or something that upsets you without them getting angry or upset, then you definitely don’t want to lock into a legal partnership with them. Life is easy when you can say to someone “Hey sex is amazing but when you call me a bitch and slap my balls, it hurts” and though there s a little bit of silliness here, its a serious point. I can’t argue with any of that, pick the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this right one and everything else is just like having the perfect best friend working as one as the others shadow.
And how are their marriages going? Are they a good match? Did they spend time getting to know each other before getting married? Do they love and respect each other, giving the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this other one space to do their hobbies? Are they caring and communicate well, or can’t they talk about the hard stuff? You need to see who you get the advice from. There are many benefits to marriage, but depending on where you live in the world some places you can get most of the same without but not always all of them. You need to choose for yourself when the time comes, simple as that. You have older men in your life that have a dim view of marriage for whatever reason, most likely because of ruined marriages and you have no good examples of men who are happy in their marriage. My wife and I met online in 2005. We have been inseparable ever since. We built a business and worked side by side for 10+ years.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. We disagree and have some issues but everyone does. The key is those disagreements don’t change how much we love one another. So many married people are cheating, marry the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this wrong person, are not a team, only care about appearances and money or think they can do better. I can relate to that. Met my wife in 2001 married in 2003. We run a business together and therefore spend pretty much all day together, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Of course, there have been ups and downs and difficult times in those 20 years of marriage, but each time, our relationship came out better and stronger. They’re saying that because they don’t want you to repeat their marriages. They each married the wrong person – or they’re the wrong people to get married. These people sound somewhat bitter. You don’t want to take the advice of bitter people; better to take the advice of happy people. If you were looking to learn how to make enchiladas from scratch, would you ask everyone who ever tried or just the people who do it well? They might say that you need to be xxx and do Yyy to produce good enchiladas. And it’s up to you if you think you can’t be xxx and do yyy As an old man. Absolutely get married (to the right person). My only caution these days would be think really really hard about having children. It’s the biggest strain on any marriage.
I think it’s people who made bad choices and don’t have the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this capacity to forgive themselves for making a bad choice. Ive had such a nightmare with my ex. We’ve been in and out of court, but I don’t think the concept of marriage is bad. I just tell my friends to understand the legal implications of getting married and make an educated decision. It’s so easy to get married but it takes a shit ton of work to get out. I have that knowledge, and I try to educate people what happens when you try to split. Marriage is not inherently bad it’s just people are so ignorant to the legal side of it I’m not a man so I can’t answer the question. However I can tell you that if you marry assuming so-and-so will take care of you in your dotage or ill health, you could be making an erroneous assumption.
Not everyone takes care of their spouses if things go wrong. There was a study done once about the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this fact that a high percentage of men, for example, up and leave their wives after the wife gets a cancer diagnosis. It’s worth noting that one of the primary reasons for divorce during life changing medical developments has ended up being, getting qualified for medical aid / medicaid. This disproportionately was done with wives as, until recently, most families were single income, and the husband would not qualify. It was not always about them breaking up. And to me, it’s another reason we need single payer The study you’re referring to showed 80% of all partners of women stayed during illness. That number goes up as the couple gets older and separately as the relationship gets longer. It also doesn’t specify the gender of the partner leaving the woman, so some of that number is presumably same sex. Also it doesn’t look at whether the couple split legally for insurance or benefits reasons, but actually stayed together. Marriage is great if you both put it near the top of your priority list. Most people don’t, and certainly don’t until they have ‘trouble’.
If you want a successful marriage, find someone kind and resiliant who you can talk to, deeply and trivially, and ideally laugh with. And don’t go round fucking half the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this world before you want to settle down because you likely won’t be able to. If you are selfish do not get married, and have kids,, you give your life away when you have so many responsibilities,, you can still have hobbies, but you are now living for your family, if you are selfish you will be miserable and so will your family There’s been a revolution within marriages between our parents generation and ours. Our dads had pretty unavailable dads. Their mom’s did all the housework and cooking and their dads either sat in front of the TV or ditched the family. Our moms didn’t tolerate that as much and our generation doesn’t tolerate it at all. I think older men don’t think it’s worth marrying because now men are expected to play an active role in their family. All this, but also because marriage was viewed as obligatory (and for women basically was the farther back you go,) so a lot of people wound up picking the first “good enough” rather than someone they genuinely couldn’t see themselves living without.
21 M I get that a lot too, but someone said to me something like “Marry the Poster Nick Shoulders The Grove House Mariposa CA February 10 2025 t shirt in addition I really love this wrong woman it’ll be the worst decision you ever make, marry the right one and it’ll be the best” Thus, even though my standards are pretty low for a hookup, my standards for an actual girlfriend are almost unmeetable. My first relationship was incredible so I know how I deserve to be treated. They probably never worked on their marriage and did things like take their wife to Applebees once a year, say no to trying anything new, and never leaving to go on vacations anywhere. Because people marry to marry due to societal pressure and then live in misery. Don’t go lookin to get married, but if you do meet someone and after 5 years together and at least 2 years cohabiting, you’re like “I want to spend my life with this person”, then discuss it with them.
