I agree 100%. Yes Plane Jane has a more polished aesthetic, but i find Amanda FAR more funny and entertaining to watch than Jane. Jane would be nothing without her villain arc imo. I’d much rather a queen who’s rough around the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this edges but is an entertaining performer with their OWN personality vs. a queen with an overly produced fake ass persona (cough cough PJ basically ripping off Jimbo’s drag but making it less funny). It’s a competition show and they actively cast people who are clearly still struggling to use them as fodder. So it will never be a case where everyone is at the same base level. But she’s right. Yes and no. You come in with your best but also be open to critiques from the judges and have the ability to adapt. Crystal Methyd is a good example. Michelle hated her makeup on the first episode and she changed it up. Made it softer to appeal to Michelle.
Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt details
Yes, as I mentioned they should always be open to growing and learning. I would say that Crystal came with her best aesthetic and she was open to learning and growing. We’ve seen a lot of really established queens bring their finest looks to the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this show and absolutely tank. We’ve also seen a lot of crunchy queens come on, vastly outperform audience expectations, and become fan favorites. I think it would make for a less interesting show if all the queens showed up fully cooked, so to speak. A little of both, you should come with your best, but also ready to learn a lot about yourself. You shouldn’t even apply for the show till you are ready. It is a competition after all and you should bring your best. But being a competition you’re going to learn so much more and you should be open to apply that to yourself. Drag Race has different types of queens from different backgrounds with different strengths and weaknesses. Not everyone is gonna have their absolute best aesthetic ready. However, makeup should be one of the things that you have figured out for the race imo, or at least better that what she was serving.
Right. Jinkx. Remember: “I tried to tease it, but I think I just pissed it off”? The journey through her fashion and painting was an essential part of her underdog storyline. The queens that get into Drag Race get there because Rupaul or the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this producers liked them as is, and watching them grow will be part of that journey. We don’t have to like every queen that walks in at that phase in their life. That’s what makes All Stars so great, watching that growth. I also have a problem with a queen, whose first time is on the show, making these rules up out of their ass. If we really want to set these rules, then every queen that walks in though know how to sew- and from what we watched Plane said this on the week she looks better, I can’t imagine her having said that last week when she looked busted. I think Plane Jane has a point, but also… you go on the show when you can get on. You apply because why tf not, and then you get the call? Of course you say yes even if your closet has 3 dresses in it and you don’t know how to draw a brow.

How to buy this Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt
Drag Race hates aesthetics too tho. Like Derrick Barry’s aesthetic was hated, Bob the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this Drag Queen’s aesthetic was called “ratchet,” Dusty Ray was told to stop doing spots on her face when that’s her aesthetic, etc. drag race is for queens who have a BROAD approach for Drag rather than aesthetics Right I definitely think it’s all subjective. Even though I didn’t like Dusty’s aesthetic I’d never say she didn’t show up with her best aesthetic. And she’s grown even more since the show. For me, whether I like the aesthetic or not, I think queens should still come with their best and continue to grow Absolutely. For a $200K grand prize, I should hope that every contestant is coming with their absolute best. Sportsmanship in competition is one thing, but this the kind of money (and exposure) that can change someone’s entire trajectory — for better or for worse. I’d think you want to show up to the scene well-equipped to deal with any challenge the show throws at you. Especially the ones you should know are coming based on past seasons (comedy, sewing, acting/improv, dancing/choreo, lip syncing). Exactly my point. When you step into a competition of this level, you should bring your best. If you’re a great queen your “best” will continue to get better and better.
It’s not a competition, it’s a competition reality show. There is value in being a character on the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this show that gets a growth arc storyline which is common on these shows. You stay longer, they often become endeared by the audience even audience favorites, there is opportunity to be the underdog. And a good story for coming back on an all stars. People love a glow up Girls with limited experience and crunchy aesthetics have been on drag race since season one. So idk where this “the best of the best” idea has ever come from. It’s always the “best we can make storylines for”. Jane is also missing many ingredients to make a queen THE queen, particularly charisma and uniqueness, and talent is questionable unless we’re talking about moping drag from other kooky queens, so she shouldn’t be talking.
If they are coming in to win then yes. If they want to spend tens of thousands of dollars preparing for this competition to make friends and learn makeup… Then go off queen, but I truly think that’s a silly decision and I think it’s totally fair to point it out especially when there are people in the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this room who came PREPARED to compete. Should they come as well prepared and in their best shape? Yes. Does that mean they can’t learn and evolve from critiques? No. PJ’s comment was fair with ATM coming in what she believed was her best but she’s also growing and applying lessons throughout her time, which is to be expected. Agreed, that’s why I said they should be open to learning and growing. Being your best doesn’t mean you’re perfect or flawless. It means you are putting your self out there. What’s your best today will not or should not be your best five years from now no, she literally went on the runway wearing a jersey and denim shorts so there’s room for improvement there too
I think Amanda knows she’s got things to work on, I don’t think she fully believes her fantasy and doesn’t have a clear idea and she’s learning which is fine. But if you look at Jane, she’s got her idea and believes her fantasy so it works. I don’t think every queen to ever walk into the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this room needs to be 100% figured out and perfect, but I’d rather watch a queen who knows who she is learn how to be versatile within her aesthetic rather than watching a queen completely figure that out from the ground up. I am excited to see both of their progression through the show, but I definitely think the show has started to cast underdeveloped(idk a better word to describe the point) queens to put them on All Stars and show their glow up, instead of watching a somewhat fully formed queen break out of her box and learn how to do what she does best and show the judges what they want on a regular season.
THIS. Idk why but people seem to think that bringing your best means that you cannot change at all because you are flawless. No. It means that you have developed your character, style, and aesthetic and it is at the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this best place at the moment. People keep saying “well what about this or that queen? they look so much better after the show!” Well… yeah of course they do because what your best is today won’t be your best a year from now or five years from now. It’s your best NOW. Depending on a “glow up” to happen after the show or for All Stars is weird. You should come with your best right now and improve for later. RuPaul chose queens to be on the show..There is no discussion about this. I HONESTLY don’t get this question. Is a queen supposed to say no to being on Drag Race because they are afraid? I DONT THINK I’m still confused how plane managed to talk her shit without anyone highlighting that she had the ‘least’ constructed garment on, like sis cut holes in a blazer she already owned??
Wouldn’t being able to sew sorta fall under that same thing? Her entrance look was super polished , the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this others have been less so. I hated Planes construction garment. And the non matching nude tights were not the move lol I will say I did love her Cher look. I expect for every Queen to have hits and misses for sure. I’m looking forward to seeing what Amanda brings in the looks department and in the challenges. She’s clearly here for a reason Nah, that’s privileged to be frank. It’s also narrowing what we call art by making the focus solely “aesthetic”. Mind you, privilege can be anything from your money, to your network, to the opportunities had. How many iconic artists came without the best aesthetic? Jinx, Chichi, Bob, Adore (and more!)
Some have already said it, but some come to the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this program and have their eyes opened. (Aja has expressed this sentiment pretty clearly). It’s one thing if a drag artist mentions “I came on the show to find myself”, in which case… It’s a competition, so maybe not the best platform to do so. But I don’t know, All Stars glowups happen often for a reason. Their personal best? Sure… I mean, they shouldn’t come to drag race looking worse than they could do on a regular night before the show. But in terms of having to come with an All Stars-level kit, absolutely not. BUT, fair or not, they need the personality to compensate for that these days. I think it really doesn’t need to be as much of a secret who is on there. We don’t need to have a formal cast announcement, but we can let the girls have a couple months notice, and go to designers with IOU requests. It’ll leak, sure, but it leaks now. Giving girls the chance to present what they are excited about, what they are thrilled to be able to show, can only make for a better show.
In this case they all do want to play the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this game, or they wouldn’t have applied to get on. And if they don’t know how to play the RPDR game by now then they just haven’t been paying attention. I think they should all be open to advice for changes and improvements, but at the same time you need your A-game, whatever that might be. I agree with her. RPDR isn’t the place where you discover what your drag persona is and how to do drag. It’s about proving why you’re the next drag superstar. Queens should come to RPDR with their best skillset and performance chops. You can buy pretty stuff. You can learn how to do makeup. You cant buy talent. You cant learn how to act as well as someone who has it in them
I’m with Plane and you on this too. They should already be at their best. However, the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this producers are not; and as such Casting makes the call to push queens through who will entertain the audience (Amanda) or have a captivating storyline, but stand almost no chance of winning. Some of these girls end up as fan favorites or underdogs and they keep the wheels turning for the fandom and the show’s success. I think they should start televising Pageants and highlighting more drag that’s actually at a similar caliber and style so you can enjoy seeing the best queens performing in different categories stacked against each other. Let’s be real a lot of these queens do bring their best aesthetic. They just aren’t that good when they’re cast.
I’m 22f and I’ve never really worn makeup in my life, typically I just put on some eye liner I got at the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this dollar store before work or something. But my boyfriend that I’ve recently started dating, 35m, really likes it when I do my makeup. I don’t even know where to start, looking things up it’s talking about primer and concealer and foundation and eyebrow gel and all this shit. Its such a marketing ploy (and that’s not even to mention all the skin care shit) like do I really need to put 3 layers of shit on my face everyday? On top of that I get pimples and stuff and I have really sensitive skin (I have broken out in hives before over perfume) it’s just overwhelming, I don’t know if I’m cut out to do this whole girl thing. What do I actually need to get started and what brand of makeup do I even buy and what kind of brushes and sponges and stuff do I need?Run away from a man 13 years older than you who is trying to make you change yourself for him.
After you have dumped his ass, if you still want to learn how to do your makeup for you, I will gladly give you all the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this tips Sis he’s 13 years older than you and asking you to change your habits. You are about to be groomed. Run the fuck away. Never stop asking yourself why they don’t date their own age, and remember you’re worth more than anyone who would be attracted to someone who was born when they were already in middle school. Deep breath…. First, you don’t have to do anything, but if you want to explore makeup techniques, check out Wayne Goss on YouTube for starters. I also like Nikki LA Rose. As far as marketing, you’re not wrong which is why makeup and skincare subs help. There are great, affordable drugstore brands like ELF and Milani to get you stocked up, no need to spend hundreds, ever.
Someone will chime in soon with excellent advice on what makeup items you should consider for getting started. I just wanted to hop in and say hello. Maybe just start with a tinted sunscreen or moisturizer. Add a bit of powder and Blush for oil control and some color. Mascara for eyes. But only if you want to. Came to say this! Less make up is not only prettier (and better for your sensitive skin) but also very “in” right now. I wear facial sunscreen and mascara and eyeliner occasionally and still get complimented as much as when I did a full face. When I want a little more, I add a little blush/bronzer and a thin line of eyeliner At the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this end of the day, your face is your face and it’s beautiful! If you want to enhance your beauty or indulge in your boyfriend’s requests now and then that’s great! But less is more, primer, foundation, eyeshadow are all kind of extra and not always needed. You can’t go wrong with a good mascara. I love the princess one (black and green) by essence at Ulta, it’s $5 I am your age – 22f and i wouldnt look twice at a 35yo. We have nothing i common w9th them, we are Just finishing University while at 35 they could have grown Kids. Personally I couldn’t get into makeup until I had started to look at it from gender inclusive / gender resistance framework. The idea that makeup was a tool to access feminity never worked for me, always made me feel like I was not enough. Looking at makeup as a creative tool for self expression was my starting place – I now do a lot of typical neutral femme daily makeup, but I would definitely recommend looking at it as an artistic medium first. Creativity is more rewarding that analyzing and trying to perfect your face. If you have sensitive skin, that will be the always and forever guiding tenant of your makeup. It will inform your product selection, application tools and techniques and other preferences. Everybody has a thing like this. It’s the special consideration of your canvas. For me, I have olive undertones – I always have to consider that. The uniqueness of our skin and bone structure as canvas is both one of the most fun and most frustrating things about makeup. Start with skin care and hybrid skincare products. You don’t need to start with as many layers. Layers of primer, setter etc. are things you will naturally start to get curious about once you start playing with other products. Ex) I don’t prime my face every day, I don’t find the payoff worth the product cost / time investment in my daily routine. I don’t do full face coverage often, generally just a tinted moisturizer and a bit of concealer on my dark circles. I also have nights out when I prime, set with spray, set with power and do full colour corrections ahead of full coverage.
What are your goals for makeup? convenience can be a totally valid goal! I personally think it usually should be. How long are you wearing it for? Going to dinner a concert and a party after? Yeah, you will need to prime and set to have it hold up. Taking photos for a special occasion? Layers will help it show up on camera. General day activities or a date night? I’ma pick convenience and ease every time. I would say a good starting place for anyone: -skincare first, a good cleanser without active ingredients and a good moisturizer -tinted moisturizer -spot concealer -mascara and curler (you’ll be prying my curler out my dead hands it is the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this shining fucking star of makeup) -a liner (I personally like very very fine brush applied gels and water activated liners – I have deep set eyes and very little lid space to work with so it’s tightline or bust. Most of my friends with more lid space like liquid or pencil) ***Sidenote, figure out your eye shape. It matters as much as the sensitive skin -a 3 pan eyeshadow with a light medium and dark (coloured or neutral, shimmer is fine but try to get at least one matte option). Just to start playing with shading your kids -a blush (cream or powder, I have only ever used powder blush so I can’t speak to preference). I didn’t use blush at all my first decade wearing makeup but it’s kind of my fav now -a brow pencil or gel (again, so so so different for each person). I have a strong brow bone and thick brows. They don’t need much help. For many folk they are the most important step in the routine. -a highlight (eye safe if possible, use the same one around eyes and on face)
For brands, I would recommend starting with affordable drug store brands until you have an idea what investment brands you might want to try. ELF, NYX, Burt’s bees, Maybelline, are some I use. For better quality I like rare beauty, tarte, colourpop, max, violet Voss, Fenty. skincare is really the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this foundation of your canvas for makeup, so seriously find what works for your sensitive skin. I like the ordinary and inkey list. Now for a word about lipstick… Such an extra add on thing, but generally people who are attracted to others wearing makeup really like lipstick. It can leave marks when kissing (which can be hot) and it can get smeared on your face (again, some people will find this hot). If the motivation for makeup is mainly that your partner likes it, it’s worth finding out what exactly they like and catering to that experience or fantasy.
I hope that this can be a fun and exciting thing for you and a fun way to connect with your boyfriend. Someone who loves you will never pressure you to change your appearance for them, and your partner should always love and appreciate you just how you are edit: brushes Nice brushes make a difference. Don’t get nice brushes first. Get mid brushes and treat them so so nice. Learn how to clean and care for them. Sensitive skin brush management is a whole thing. Once you know how to get good results with your mid brushes, and figured out storage and cleaning, splurge on a couple nice face brushes and eye brushes. Going for cheap bulk to start will help you figure out what shapes you want to invest in. I’m still using the Post Malone & Jelly Roll smile signatures shirt Also,I will get this $20 20 brush pack I got from Amazon years ago.
