Let’s take a look at her bank account. Probably easy for her to be willing to give away more money. I mean the Pixelated Heart Lgbt Gay Pride Rainbow Heart In Pixel Art T-Shirt But I will love this economy is doing so well right now (that’s sarcasm in case it wasn’t clear). I still say, you took the loan knowing you would have to pay it back. So do so. If they want to NOT charge interest, I would be more open to that. But not at all open to just outright forgiving loans that people took out. wow i feel bad you have to pay your loan . millions of others did it .. is it because money is tight ? well then let them pay my mortgage money is tight !!!! and feed my kids too … US colleges must be taken to task for charging such high rates to begin with. This suggestions about lowering or eliminating interest or providing free tuition are distractions. We scream bloody hell about high gas and Drug prices and challenge Big Oil & Pharma. Yet there is not a single peep regarding Big college. Who do you think is charging high tuition in the first place? Remember the student loan system was nationwide years ago preventing filing bankruptcy. Thus the government’s interference is harming civilians. People fail to see these countries with free tuition have an enormous tax system to the point the average person pays far more in taxes than we do in the states.

Ok but those of us who paid off our loans made sacrifices for that to happen (hear me out). One example being parents deferred saving for their own kids’ college…and now these kids will have to assume the Pixelated Heart Lgbt Gay Pride Rainbow Heart In Pixel Art T-Shirt But I will love this same debts to attend, which in turn, will once again become everyone’s problem in 20 years. I propose this: for those who have paid their loans-match investing contributions to a 529 or similar vehicle in dollar-for-dollar tax credits up to$10k-or whatever amount the forgiveness end up being. Don’t have kids? Kids not going college? Great! Offer the same tax credit for contributions to a tax-advantaged retirement account. This will actually save the government money down the line as well (less Medicaid for nursing homes spent and such.) moving forward, the government must stop guaranteeing loans. Colleges must feel the pain of losing payments on degrees that aren’t economically viable. I assume tuition costs would also drop as a result.
