I had an appointment with my primary care doctor but he was out that day. I got stuck with a new NP. I described my symptoms and without examining me in any way, diagnosed that I had arthritis (at age 43) and told me to take Tylenol. No referral. I managed to get a referral to a neurologist from another doctor, who also ordered an MRI of my brain and cervical spine. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, not arthritis.
