People feel good when they hear nice things about their country and get addicted to that feeling, so they keep looking up other nice things about their country and it gets wayyyy overdone. There are Youtubers taking advantage of this. Some try to stay factual (the ones I stay subscribed to are , and overseas), but many take like a single sentence in some obscure article where Korea is mentioned once and then add enough shit all around to make a full 10 minute Youtube video about how Korea is exceptional and unique. It’s amazing how much BS can be slapped onto a single word or sentence. This used to be a very blatant thing going on with Japanese before it came into Korea, so some of us Koreans that got into the ” thing early used to read their comments and laugh at their insane trails of thought and how blind from reality they were. Now, sooo many Koreans are kind of addicted to the same thing and are having their minds poisoned.

China on the other hand, they had lock down for a long period time especially in the factories. That’s why koreans are pissed. Korea has a dedicated website community, gasengi.com for translated reactions of international people. If something goes viral there, it probably will be picked up by the actual press media. A lot of them do this. They do reaction videos to tik toks, IG post etc. One time I was watching a random video on the Kardashians. Like one of those “recommended” videos. My tweet had been used in the video by a pretty big channel. I was like wtf and changed my handle and locked my account for a while. We are the backbone of keeping the country’s news outlets employed. Also the Korean media: I felt like complaining about how creepy this is but then I realized I was writing this comment under a sidewalk CCTV and laughed at the irony.
