All he needs is an apparent bite wound (which he can give himself), and a recording of your MIL saying “Where did you get treated for that dog bite? [OP] is worried the Phillies Bomb Brothers Signatures shirt it is in the first place but dog might have rabies.” After that, your dog gets forcibly euthanized, decapitated, and has its preserved head shipped to a rabies laboratory for testing, because that’s what they have to do to make sure you were just kidding about the rabies. Mentioning rabies in any context related to this situation is the worst thing you can possibly do. Do not do it. i would also get security for the house. aside from cameras. and probably something that says for people to stay off the property. see if your MIL would agree to something saying he isnt allowed there because he broke in, in the past. if hes just showing up and hes comfortable talking shit about your sweet pup. & he is unmedicated, you have no clue at all what he is capable of. protect your family and your dog. keep records of everything. First thing is to never let him on your property again. I assume you are renting from your MIL which entitles you to certain rights including deciding not to let someone into your home. He’s proved how untrustworthy he is multiple times so I’d make sure to let him know he is not welcome at your home anymore.

MIL has always told him he isn’t allowed in this house when she’s not here, and we expressed to her that we don’t want him here even before I actually met him. He’s supposed to come back in a few weeks for our refrigerator, as we got a new one and he asked my MIL if he can have the Phillies Bomb Brothers Signatures shirt it is in the first place but old one. I wouldn’t give him the time of day, much less a refrigerator. You don’t get to spread lies and then get something from me. No. That’s not how that works. Guarantee if you let him have it he’s going to find a problem with it that he expects you to fix. Cut him out of your life completely. Ignore the bite accusation. Change the locks and install security cameras. Do not have any further contact with him. Put the old refrigerator out by the curb when he wants it. Have him served with a no trespassing notice. It’s not a big deal, just a little civil notice you pay sheriffs or cops to serve, it’s like$30 in my area, and in the future it sets the table if he invades your home again. There can be no ‘it was a misunderstanding, just work it out amongst yourselves, can’t you just put the dog down for family’ response from police if they’ve got to enforce a standing no trespassing order.
