Southwest airlines never charges for checked bags because part of their business model is trying to unload and re-board planes as fast as possible and they figure it’s easier to just lose some bag fees than lose time during every boarding to gate check bags and have people fumble around in the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Apart from…,I will love this aisle looking for open overhead bin space. It makes sense when you consider that the plane costs something like $120 million so getting a few more segments per day out of the same size fleet can be extremely valuable. I mostly travel alone and the idea of having to lift some baggage over my head and squish it into the overhead bin, and then have to retrieve it while leaving the aircraft is very anxiety inducing, plus I won’t have access to anything during the flight, without standing up and rummaging through the bag in the overhead bin.

Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt description

and then if you check a bag you’ll need to wait for it at the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this destination.. so heavy, cumbersome, and then what about when it gets lost? super annoying. more anxiety and totally not worth it for me. Sounds good to me, one less bag to deal with and if they lose it I’m assuming it’s a net gain for me between airline policy and travel insurance. I don’t bring much with me though, electronics stay in my personal bag and I don’t short term travel so it’s not like I’m wasted precious days dealing with it. I feel like a potential solution I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere might be to require all carry-on bags to have at least 3 soft sides. You don’t need a hard-shell if your bag is going to be stowed in a bin with 3-6 other soft-shelled bags, and the soft sides also allow a certain malleability and finesse in packing an overhead, leading to potentially more bag storage overall.
This article doesn’t mention the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this one damn thing that makes people want to carry on their bags: ridiculous price gouging for checking bags! I feel like this is mostly applicable to airlines in the United States, because a lot of them don’t have a weight restriction for carry-on baggage. This means passengers can pack a lot more into the suitcase and they can take all they need as carry on. Most airlines in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, have a 14lb/7kg weight limit that can make carry on less appealing to those who don’t know how to pack for one-bag travel, especially for longer trips. Here’s the thing: if you’re a healthy, young person with no kids going on a standard 10 day trip a personal item is plenty. Now, you’re no healthy anymore and need blood thinners, diabetic pills, etc. that you can’t lose because they’ll be impossible to replace or you have a toddler or god forbid two or you need to carry a work laptop that you can’t check because the battery can’t be removed (looking at you apple) or… and there we are. Why is it also that I am only allowed 7kgs of personal item+hand luggage while I am 53kgs but the oversized, obese traveler at 170kgs is allowed the same? I think luggage should be standardized and only sold as such plus travelers should be allowed a total weight the way you’re measured when flying a helicopter. If you exceed that weight you’ll have to pay.

In the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this past year, on united and to a lesser extent air france KLM i ve asked often enough if i wanted to check my carry on backpack for free at the counter. This may sound a little abnormal but I was thinking in the future, no overhead storage, only under seat space, and the airlines will put another row of seats in a taller plane. Maybe I should post this in r/highideas. My last flights on Delta I was surprised by the oversized bags they allowed no problem as carry-on. I swear some were half again as thick as is allowed. Of course, they also forced people to check our carryons. Slight bummer, if i was checking baggage I’d have brought some stuff back that I left in costa rica because I didn’t want to check
The other piece of this is loyalty programs. I have mid-tier status with United and one of the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this main benefits is group 1 boarding, allowing me reasonable (though not absolute) certainty of bag space. Crazily, that is actually enough to keep me sending money their way. It seems like a lot of grief could be avoided if hardshell cases were restricted in overhead bins. This would allow a more organic approach to loading and fitting softshell bags into the bins. I discovered this by accident when I squeezed a “floppy bag” containing about 25L worth of stuff into the “full” bin in an L-shape when we didn’t want to bother having it at our feet (we had room, but using the bin was preferred). If you have something fragile, just place it in a hardshell box like a Lock-n-Lock or similar before placing it in your softshell bag. (I’ve been doing this for years, first in a checked soft-sided rolling duffel for many years, then with the wonderful 35L Patagonia LW Duffel, and more recently with my 40L REI Ruckpack.) L H W size restrictions would still apply, but if Flight Attendant Ratched needed a bag to check, one of the hardshell cases would be selected first.
I recently flew on both a Boeing 737 and 737 Max, and in both cases there was NOT enough overhead bin space for all the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this occupants, and flight crews were FORCING travelers to check their overhead bags at the gate. It was not optional. In both cases, they counted out 55 travelers in Economy, and everyone after #55 had to check their bags. The attendants were not kidding either, once you get into the plane you realize there really isnt enough space for all the bags.
There’s some really nice beach towels out there too! The thin crappy ones of yore are being replaced! I like bath sheets too, I feel like I’m in a cocoon. Bath sheets 100%, winners sometimes has good ones (i have bamboo ones), also QE home Canada also has really nice ones but they’re pricy, but tbh worth it! Snag (the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this tights maker that gets recommended often on this sub) makes a big comfy towel now. I haven’t bought one yet because I know that I’d just want to use it every day and then I’d have to buy like seven of them and they aren’t cheap, but they look cool! Edit: I shop their US site because that is where I am but they are based in the UK so I bet if anything it’s easier for them to ship to Canada.
Those look amazing! My only issue is that with cats, I can’t spend that much on towels my cats will try to eat. I just bought 4 towels from Really Big Towels and I love them! They are so thick, soft, and HUGE. I’m a 2X/3X and I can wrap one towel around me almost twice, basically. They are pricy but I bought four towels and they were having a sale and apparently have a 2 for $60 (really more like 2 for $40 with the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this sale) deal so 4 towels only cost me like $100 including shipping. Shipping was expensive but the towels did come in a big box and was maybe a little heavy. Highly recommend! I usually hate the feeling of microfiber but bought a pair of cheap towels that dried quick and packed easily for a trip to Iceland and they ended up reminding my everyday towels after the trip! I love them and they’re HUGE without killing your laundry machines Canadian here, bath sheets are good. Winners/Homesense often have them. I got a Turkish towel there recently, and it’s large and great!
LandsEnd bath sheets are amazing. Great quality, frequent sales, and really big. Wraps around me and then some. I really like “Turkish” towels like these and have changed over to these entirely. I just saved a couple standard type towels in case guests prefer them. This type is thin and absorbent and takes little room on the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this shelf. They are also great for camping. Because they are thin, they dry quickly. Just be careful and read the exact size in the descriptions. I have bought most if mine on ebay and they are almost all slightly different. I also like what they call “hand towels” which are bigger than standard but perfect for hair or a 2nd towel for extra dry. I love the Vera Bradley beach towels. Not super thick and in my favorite grandma patterns. I only buy from the outlet when on sale but still cost $12-15 USD. They’re tricky to find this time of year, but in the summer when all the beach stuff is out, I get these “oversized beach towels” from walmart. They’re like 72 inches long. The biggest I can possibly find. They’re usually like $12ish? They’re great – very sturdy material, very absorbent, but still pretty soft, not scratchy or anything. The patterns they come in leave a lot to be desired, I will say. There’s not a lot of variety, and they’re all beach-themed. But they’re the best towels I’ve ever found, so I put up with it!
We’ve had these for going on 2 years. The bath sheet wraps around well, they wash fantastic and are plush and hold their texture. Not cheap, but I got tired of buying new towels after only a short time. A couple years ago I freaked out about small towels and ordered 6 bath sheets (40in x 70in) and 6 Turkish towels (36in x 71in) and I swear I’ll never go back to regular sized towels! You won’t regret spending the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this money! It’s so worth it. The last thing you need is your damn towels mocking you when you get out of the shower. Turkish towels. They are very thin, absorbent, and wrap all around because they are big. They probably have different sizes too. Dry easily and super durable. I have had mine for like 6 years now and they are in the same condition as new, and only use them.
Apparently he’s been a gamer all his life and he’s a retire recon in the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this Navy. He’s also pretty good at the game too! I’m 40 and I’ll be starting mine properly (I have 3 Shorts so far but no actual content yet) in about a month, maybe less. I’m child-free but I am busy in other ways, and the way I have managed my time so far is by planning loads of videos in advance (e.g. I have basic ideas for probably 20 videos so far) and am also planning to upload weekly content, but I aim to make 3-4 videos before I actually go ‘live’ with any of them. Yeah! I’m getting a Grom and doing motovlogs/camping/travel. I love ‘little bike challenges’ and doing things they tell me the Grom can’t (that’s the plan, anyway) and I’m super excited!
Yes, definitely don’t want to burn out, as I have burned out before for my other channel that I dropped, cause it wasn’t my true passion. I find so many people young and old on YouTube! I say go for it you never know if you don’t try! You are not old at all….I don’t think anyone even in their 80s creating content. If you enjoy it and it makes you happy I say go for it. I didn’t think anyone would want to watch me but I have almost 1.1k subs now and I’ve just received my first PR package from a big makeup brand. The ups & downs can be hard to take to be honest, one minute you’re doing great and then next – views drop! However I think your life experience can come in handy here and you can pick yourself up well after each lull. If you have goals, then chase them – you’re NEVER too old! Good luck You’ll get more new people who will be interested in your content and will follow you for more. You just need time for your videos to mature and attract the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this right audience and reach the right people too.
I’m currently 52 and getting decent watch time with my almost monetized coding channel. I’m just interested in how much the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this channel will make when monetized. Then I’ll run the math and work out if it’s worthwhile continuing. I nearly quit for good last year but I watched one of those “how much I make” videos and it was more than I expected for a channel that’s near-identical to mine. One of the biggest music channels is by Rick Beato and he’s in his 60s right now i think. I’ve seen plenty old geezer fishing streamers that just sit there chatting with chat with 500-600 viewers. There’s a popular old lady that is halfway in her death bed making reviews of 10-30 year old jrpgs too with 150k subs or so. Not even that young, he started writing Fellowship when he turned 48 and didn’t finish it until he was around 65!
Never too old but the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this influencer thing is dying, if you want a Youtube career. Do it for fun rather than money The supply is bigger than the demand. Too many youtubers. Too many people with 100k subscribers. Too many people with 1 million subscribers. Im unsure how old you are but 2012 and before that was the prime time to be a YouTuber. Youtubers used to have tons of fans, there was more money. Vidcon was a thing. They were essentially like the new celebrity but its not the thing anymore and it’s obvious, unless youve been on the platform from the earlier days and have a massive following and maintained high viewership along all those years. (Hardly anyone fits that category). Not saying not to do Youtube videos but its an incredibly unstable career, based off of a company within Google It’s unstable. Advertisers could easily move to another platform. Theres no guarantee Youtube will continue to last for a long time.
I believe you under 30s, or you never did business before, YouTube give an opportunity for anyone to be self-employed, how long it gonna take or how much you will gain its entirely on how savvy you going to be. think of it as a free spot on a very busy mall, no attraction will be your presentation issue not the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this mall. thats old money and its here to stay i have a question, out the loop for a while. i messaged a guy about using his instrumental, he said i can monetize the video but dont create content id for it. what does that mean? in layman terms i think he meant that you can monetize it (earn money off it) but not claim to be the original creator/author of that instrumental. Skip the music. It’ll cause nothing but copyright claims down the line. And you will have to constantly defend/prove rights usage. PITA.
I get the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this feeling that it’s a bit tougher for me with a 1 and 4 year old at 34 than it is for a 25 year old with less responsibilities. It can depend on your niche, but what you may lack in being with the times, you have more wisdom. I started my channel ROCK ON DUDEZ last year…two months before my 52nd birthday!!! Over a year now talking about music and stuff but I’m almost to 300 subs (more than I thought possible!!!) Never too old! I’m finally getting my music out there at 59, and I’ve been teaching myself different things to avoid being on camera at my age, like animation. I started Mine at the age of 40 last year. Family , Job all that. But it does work. Just don’t try any 1 vid per week business If you want to make fancy videos with alot of cuts & visual extras. Then you should be fine.
I was in my mid-40’s when I started. Pick a niche, something where you have knowledge or passion, and start posting content. Don’t waste money on gear, use your phone and get to it. Started mine at 42 last year. I’m exactly 1 year in and don’t regret a second of the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this hundreds if not thousands of hours I’ve put into it. I say go for it! I mean theres a grandpa on twitch that plays Fortnite by camping in trees and bushes the whole time until the end of the match if you resell things, you could do videos based on that. Some people make content out of going to yard sales or showing the cheap profitable finds they obtained, or how much they sold them for. Also if you have any knowledge on any niche or specific items that you resell, or things to look out for while reselling and buying the stock, that could be good content also
I started seriously at 46. I have 30k subs in a super small niche. It helps pay the Phil Lesh March 15 1940 October 25, 2024 signature thank you for the music and memories Shirt Furthermore, I will do this bills. Have an awesome tight niche. One of my friends friend is a volcanologist, talks about and shows exploding volcanos. He made $60k last year. I don’t make that much but I don’t have a PhD in volcanos. Haha. Just don’t put ANY music in videos that isn’t directly from YouTube’s “official music”. Even better, just skip the music. I have a subscription to storyblocks for my work, I used to use their music in my YT videos, and years later STILL get copyright claims that force me to edit the video and substitute in YT officially accepted music. No one is too old for YouTube. Just keep a good time management, since you’re probably not as free as a 18 year old. 7 months on… now have 42k subscribers. As result, there’s some extra income via channel monetisation, a few affiliate links and more recently some sponsored segments in videos. It’s also lead to some really interesting networking connections with people I’d previously had never have thought I’d be speaking with.
