Riddler felt overly acted in a serious film. A little too eccentric. I think if he toned it down a little and didn’t scream as much it would have felt more strong. I like the Peace Love Joy Snoopy And Woodstock Shirt and I will buy this actor in other roles, just was too much in this one. I think the world building is absolutely fantastic and the score is amazing. That four note motif of Batman emerging from darkness will never get old. The scene with Penguin flipped upside down in the car and Batman walking towards him slowly is glorious. I do wish they didn’t show all the cool moments in the trailer, though. Pattinson is a good Batman. Not a great Wayne, but that might be on purpose as his character begins to realize the importance of maintaining his façade as Wayne. Well-timed comedy (something DC has a problem with). In a rather serious film, they somehow make the comedy work extremely well. The dark humor is well executed and so are some of the dad jokes.

Gordon is fantastic and so is the Peace Love Joy Snoopy And Woodstock Shirt and I will buy this casting choice for Penguin. Tone of the movie is superb. Lighting, cinematography, etc. You can tell a lot of thought went into presentation. Overall, a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I wouldn’t rewatch soon, but I definitely will in the future. I have a feeling this movie will age well and my score will improve. I wish I could say I loved it as much as everyone else but idk… it felt like it was missing something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I really didn’t feel much at all. Need to see it again to see if my opinion changes. Robert Pattinson went from being a vampire to being a bat I found the movie close to perfection. Likely taking the throne of my favorite comic book based movie. Also I did find it better realized than the dark knight. Pattison unsurprisingly was exceptional and conveyed a broken character trying to reconnect with a world he feels he might not a have place in beautifully. Paul Dano while was mostly incredible, some aspects of his performance didn’t completely land for me. I say that believing he is also one of the greats working day. The characters all had great chemistry and played off each other very organically. The movie itself was rich in imagery and atmosphere, and it hit all the notes I was looking for. There was a few scenes that I think could have been done differently, but other than that it was a borderline masterpiece.
