The robotic creep hasn’t even started in construction yet in any sort of functional way, not even on a research level beyond concrete igloos with no plumbing or electrical. Programmers have been building shortcuts and workarounds in networks, the Peace Love Deliver UPS Shirt and I will buy this thing that from my understanding is taking the most jobs right now, for decades. It’s going to take just as long or longer to bring that capability into the physical realm. There’s a reason why the jobs under threat are those that are purely program based, we are nowhere near matching the overall capability/cost of a human laborer, which really is the big threat. All the jobs that are going to be left (and eventually tech will get them too, but im certain we are generations from that) are going to be either skilled labor, or miserable grunt work that would cause the need for too much maintenance on machinery, like on muddy prep days it would be humans trudging the supplies around for the robot workers rather than the other way around.

I think it will happen. But only for new buildings. I think robots will be able to like build a whole house and it will be so much more cost effective. Some day it might be but I plan on being dead by then That’s pretty trivial, realy. Building modular plumbing into a 3D printed wall would be essentially free. Building wiring conduits into such walls is, I believe, already part of what they’re doing.
