Nowhere. The revenue per sq ft of the Patrick Baldwin Jr T-Shirt and I will buy this play areas is dogshit compared to regular tables, so most McDonalds operators have decided to no longer have them. But that’s a money decision, not some “we can’t market to kids” horseshit. The play places have mostly disappeared. Still one or two around by me tho. Happy meals with toys are still everywhere from what I’ve seen. You can ask for a toddler toy but I’ve never seen a book unless it was part of a promotion. Chick Filet however often has books I do not see how McDonalds is responsible for the obesity epidemic. Maybe they contribute a bit but all of the fat people in America are not due to McDonalds. Blame the parents for not feeding their children better.

Super Size Me did a good job with it’s hit job despite being untruthful. Most people watched it and believed it or just heard about the Patrick Baldwin Jr T-Shirt and I will buy this results. The amounts of calories the movie claims he ate is impossible according to the rules he laid out and the exact food eaten has never been revealed. All the health issues that he suffered can be explained by his alcoholism which the movie doesn’t reveal. It’s just about equally both. We, as a whole, dropped the ball on this one. It was a systematic failure. They’re responsible for the wide-spread issue, the parent’s are responsible for the individual children. A lot of parents will take the easy way out, give the kid what they want so they’re happy and not being annoying. That’s why it was called a Happy Meal. The advertisers understand human psychology and they play that against us. We didn’t even know there was a war while they were already destroying us, they were 5 steps ahead. Had there not been a conscious effort to market to children and low income areas, which were basically their prime audience for a long time, I wouldn’t be putting the blame on the company. If it were just a thing that existed that parents decided to give to their kids it would be all on the parents. But they were lied to and tricked by the company and their advertising practices. I want to reiterate that none of that means the parents are absolved, they’re part of “as a whole.” But healthy eating wasn’t something that was understood by the general public back in the 90s and early 2000s so it’s hard to really put the blame there. Hell the food pyramid we were all sold had the largest section entirely paid for by the dairy industry. We know now, sure, but hindsight can’t traverse time in that way.
