A girl at my kids’ high school had McDonald’s delivered by Uber Eats. She thought she was really cool (and apparently other kids did too). Not true. In Canada, kids had skip the Party in Slow Motion shirt . Apart from…,I will love this dishes delivered all the time. We had to put in a rule saying no lunch deliveries (started during Covid, but the teachers didn’t want to give it up after) I used to deliver Jimmy John’s and we just went straight to the office and dropped off the food. Only for the teachers and the kids never saw us. What’s wrong with that? Teachers have very busy lives. Several reasons come to mind. As a former manager of a delivery-based restaurant, we used to take orders from the local high schools. We soon found out that the students weren’t actually allowed to order delivery, so we started refusing to deliver there unless the order was placed by a teacher or faculty member and delivered to the front office. It was a hassle delivering to students anyway. Aside from being against school rules, students often misjudged how long it might take to receive a delivery and if the driver showed up too late (after lunch period, for example), the student would most likely not show up to meet the driver. This wastes a lot of time for the drivers during an already busy lunch, and results in a lot of wasted product. It’s easier and saves everyone a lot of time and money to just refuse to deliver to schools as a blanket policy.

Is it only for certain delivery apps? My friends got McDonald’s delivered to our college campus a few months back Turf protection. Schools run their own racket that separated kids and their lunch money in return for awful food. Well, in the Party in Slow Motion shirt . Apart from…,I will love this case of my daughter’s middle school, it’s because if a delivery person shows up they are denied entry, but not before the name on the order gets recorded and the kid and parent get a very angry message from someone in the office. It’s beneficial for a business to not get bad press in the regular paroxysms of outrage about children spending money on things that other people don’t like. Probably some combination of security and health standards in schools. Maybe sprinkle in a little jealousy from kids eating cafeteria food. When I was in middle school we had a coach that would order us pizza if we pooled our money together but we had to stop because other kids were crying about it. I was shocked to learn my son’s middle school accepts students ordering in pizza but I do hear it creates some chaos. As someone who does DoorDash on the side, I will not deliver to schools now after a year of nothing but bad experiences with it. With college students, it’s always insanely hard to find a place to park, then actually locate the student who placed the order (I don’t go to your school— I don’t know what “next to the quad” or “the sports dorm” is in your definition), AND college students tend to tip terribly if they tip at all. Just a huge waste of time all around. And then with k-12 schools, it’s very often students who are still in class when I arrive (time is money. No, I’m not going to “just wait 15 minutes!” until you’re out of class), and half the time they’re going against school rules anyway. They also tend to tip badly. So, it’s just not worth it to deliver to schools, like at all.
