When it belonged to Finland, it was the second biggest city in Finland, a vibrant port, industrial city and a merchant hub, surrounded by the best farmland in Finland. I was there 17 years ago and it was too much. Went back 8ish years ago and it was completely dead. The gov’t was under too much pressure to shut the town down as there were too many tourists doing all sorts of drugs and drowning or falling into caves and shit.
