It broke my heart to know how behind Some of them were, but it also was encouraging to see how some good teaching and hard work changed some of these kids’lives for the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and better too. But, hey, let’s also spend all of our resources on the bottom 25% of students and slow everyone else’s development… And while we’re at it, let’s do holding sociopathic students accountable and then demonize teachers even they are brutally honest with those same sociopaths. I think this is regional. I teach 5th grade ELA and Social Studies and only a few kids read more than one grade below grade level. I’ve also now gotten to the point where almost all of them can answer questions in complete sentences. Not perfect on punctuation and capital letters, but it’s improved significantly. The thing is, I’m teaching a lot of things that are not 5th grade skills along side 5th grade skills. I don’t really care if they want me to, or not. If they don’t have the skill and I need it, I’m going to teach it to them. I have an awesome principal who lets me make professional decisions, and so I’m privileged in that regard. You keep pointing at the kids not knowing. But they have to be taught at some point. Who is failing to teach and passing these kids on? It’s not good, and society is going to adjust its expectations to meet where the next generation is at – it has to really for anything to get done.
World’s Silliest Goose Shirt, hoodie, hoodie and long sleeve tee
Its…umm..not a surprise. Our last batch of college grad new hires a couple of years ago are dreadful. Even adter theyve been growing up with technology i want to blow my brains out in front of them if i have to explain the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and rudimentray rules of setting and checking an IP address. Plus, good lawd. Kill me now. I hope to be retired or dead before we get the people who literrally need to be taught how to wipe their own ass My kid is seventh grade and nobody at school has shown her a labeled map of the US states. Not once. Never covered. I ask at conferences every year. My daughter is in first grade. She is in an advanced reading group I volunteer to help with, and reads easy chapter books. I also volunteer with the remedial kids and we go over the sounds letters make. She is also in an advanced math group, and I heard from the parent that volunteers with that group it is a similar story. I don’t know how a teacher can effectively teach such a disparate group of abilities. (We have grade levels for a reason) I am starting to question if public education makes sense for my kids. I also have heard this and it makes perfect sense. However, I learned on modern computer keyboards. I still was required to use 2 spaces. Nowadays, people don’t want 2 spaces, but I can’t help it.
Thank you for saying all of this. I’m a middle school speech-language pathologist, and I don’t usually get a picture of what is “typical” because almost every student I interact with has a diagnosed disability. I see all these deficits in my students— but I guess it’s good to know where my expectations should be. My daughter’s 9. I get overwhelmed sometimes thinking about her future. She has a friend who said she wanted to be a marine biologist. It made me so sad, like sweetie – the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and oceans are going to be dead zones by the time you get out of college. Everything you think is wonderful like dolphins and whales will be dead. The previous generations who could graph and round and write cursive and all that jazz – their great ideas have led to what looks like the literal end of the world. It’s February and everything is budding, my daffodils are blooming, there are mosquitoes buzzing around. These kids today…they’ll never own houses or get married and have kids or retire or experience stability as adults – I just don’t see them with any sort of future at all. They’ll be squeezed for every last ounce of profit some algorithm can make off them while the world burns and everything dies. I wish kids today all the luck in the world.

Where to buy this World’s Silliest Goose Shirt
I’m not a teacher, rather I’m a student who graduated HS last year, I definitely had these types of kids in my graduating class. I’d like to believe I don’t fall into any of these areas though My HS junior is in the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and NHS and one of the things they do is teach kids at similar grade levels how to fucking read. high school math teacher and experiencing the same with my students. don’t know their times tables, can’t solve one variable equations. some students can but it’s not the majority Sad to say but the only ones successful are the ones who are naturally gifted or getting lots of support at home. The average kid.. isn’t learning shit. I have the utmost empathy for you. I can’t even begin to comprehend how tough teachers of teenage kids must have it today. That said, I have family in high school right now, and they’re excelling at their respective schools, getting good grades etc. it’s private school and the parents are very involved, so I’m sure that helps kids not fall behind. Some of my students insist punctuation doesn’t matter. They are 14+ and think it’s an extra thing but it doesn’t actually matter. Where are they getting that from? They don’t understand the concept of a single coherent thought of words that all go together. Just because they know how to use their phones does not mean they know how to use a computer. They are not familiar with common keyboard shortcuts. They also cannot type properly. Some students type using their index fingers. When I was growing up everyone had a PC. That’s how you got onto the internet. I still had computer classes in high school but I learned pretty much nothing, though of course you can guess my existing hobbies are to blame for that. Even still I am sure most of my classmates must have had exposure and I don’t recall noticing any of them struggling in those classes.
Today, everyone has a cell phone, which can access the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and internet. There is no longer the need for a home PC for many people. So it is not surprising we are seeing kids starting to grow up with less PC exposure. It’s my understanding some kids will even do things like write essays using cell phones (I would not want to try this!), Mobile OSs are fundamentally differently structured than desktop OSs. A lot of that is down to lessons learned from the PC era. PCs can’t really change too much to match what mobile is doing due to decades of legacy software and other inertia. Example: On mobile apps are easy one click install and uninstall. On Windows app install and uninstall has been largely unchanged since the MS-DOS days, pretty much every app doing its own homebrew solution. The biggest change since then is how you get the app onto the PC. Of course MS is finally pushing modern app management and Linux has had their act together for decades in this regard… I casually mentioned WW2 as background to a story we’re reading, and no one had any clue what I was talking about. I mentioned Hitler, figuring that might jog their memories. Not a single kid had ever heard of him.
No research skills. The phrases they use to google are too vague when they search for information. For example, if I ask them to research the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and 5 types of chemical reactions, they only type in “reactions” in Google. When I explain that Google cannot read minds and they have to be very specific with their wording, they just stare at me confused. But even if their search phrases are good, they do not click on the links. They just read the excerpt Google provided them. If the answer is not in the excerpts, they give up. Man, this is so sad, terrifying, disgusting, and frustrating at the same time. It’s like I’m looking at a drug addict who seems too lazy to do anything because any second spent doing something is a second not enjoying their addiction. Are them to blame? Is the maker of the addiction to blame? Is society to blame? I don’t even know whom to direct my anger toward anymore. And this isn’t a person. It’s a whole generation who didn’t know any better and we failed them, so they will fail us. When it happens and we lack an educated populace, it will be our fault, and the problems we will get will be consequences of our thoughtless actions.
I hate technology because of things like this. Nobody seems to care about what a piece of technology will do to society at a macro scale 20, 30 years down the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and line. They’re only concerned with hitting a critical mass of users right now to make their quarters look better. If you have ever tried to use Bing, and sometimes I use Bing on Vivaldi because they pay Vivaldi if you do that, Bing results are the worst because the first thing it shows is a snippet from Microsoft’s newest AI. I don’t Google things to get answers. I Google things to learn knowledge. And self-learning was never for everybody. I’m not a teacher, but I do know some students do better by themselves, while others require more attention. Now if everyone relies on Google and underestimates the importance of teachers, because they have Google now, then everything is honestly doomed.
They say “just Google it.” In computing, we have a term called SPOF: single point of failure. A SPOF in a system is a point that, if it fails, the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and whole system fails. A robust system has a few SPOFs as possible, and avoids as many dependencies as possible. Because dependencies mean exactly that, you will depend on it to work. People are depending on Google too much. If Google goes to shit (and it has been going since forever), then you can’t “just Google it.” Many times I Google something, and the first result is a Reddit thread asking some basic question, and the first answer is some smug redditor saying “Google is your friend.” That’s some sweet irony right there. Nobody thinks that for Google to exist, someone has to write the webpages that Google indexes. Someone has to write the text on Wikipedia. And to write them, they have to know what they are writing about, or everyone in the planet will get dumber as a result of it. The internet generation just takes all the information available on the internet for granted, as if God planted an information tree and all those articles just fell off it.
Not a teacher but this popped up in suggested. That is scary and I thought I was behind in high school (class of 2020 graduated with a 2.6 gpa). Makes me feel better about my own learning experience but that is actually terrifying I’m so sorry teaching sounds horrible. I’m 26, and I thought some of my peers in high school were exceptionally dumb, but they’re geniuses compared to the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and kids I’m hearing about now. So, I’ve been student teaching in the 3rd grade. All (and I do mean all) know their times tables up through 12 and can tell ya them at the drop of a hat. All but a few students are reading at or above grade level. One of the students that is below grade level is dyslexic. Another two transferred from a different public school. We don’t live in a “well to do” area and 36% of the local population live below the poverty line. What we do have is a super supportive admin and community. If we have issues, they’re there. They take the teacher’s side before anyone else’s, but will force move a teacher if their students preform poorly or too many issues arise.
We even have a “bar night” where teachers get together and share a beer in commiseration. It’s really nice & I hope I get hired here when I graduate this semester. My question would be, how do kids make it to high school? Why were they not held back at a lower grade level until they learn what they are suppose to? The more I read the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and more thankful I am that I had parents who cared. I thought you were annoying nags as a child but you were right about a lot of stuff Why do you think this is? I’m a former teacher and now a parent. I view my child’s education as my responsibility. She goes to school to learn but it’s my job as a parent to make sure that she is learning what she should at school and to work with her on anything she is struggling with.
Kids in America need to be held back if they are behind the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and expected curriculum. The “social stigma” of being held back is nothing compared to having generations of ignorant children one after another. I went from teaching to the construction industry and am now in charge of hiring laborers. And I simply refuse to hire someone under the age of 25 anymore. It isn’t the same old adage of “the older generation always hates the younger and thinks they are worse off” the younger generations are physically and mentally incapable of hard work, listening, being off their phones, yelling and talking loudly all the time, not understanding basic respect (such as talking to owner of our company or the homeowners of where we do our work). It used to be so embarrassing and aggravating to be next to them day in a day out and all of them were fired within months for being incompetent. I can’t stress enough how low the bar is for basic laborer construction and 90% of the young men under the age of 25 have all been fired for being less than worthless.
My province keeps statistics of student performance in public schools published on their website, and a cursory glance suggests that competency has trended upwards in most demographics over the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and past 10 years, with a minor dip after the pandemic. I haven’t reviewed the methodology in detail but I’ll link it if anyone is interested. I remember when I was in school (born ’97), about 10-15% (about 3) of the students in my classes were multiple years behind on one or two subjects but were fine on most others. I do wonder if it’s a case of a vocal minority combined with social media amplification that make the problem appear worse than it is, but I only have my own experience to draw from. MB Provincial Statistics for graduation, middle years, grades 3+4: There have always been a few students who have been decently behind, when I was in high-school in 2018/2019 there were some students (maybe 5 in every class) who lacked some reading comprehension, maybe couldn’t spell that well and were generally a grade or two behind where they should be.
However, I think covid dramatically exacerbated this issue and there’s an entire generation of kids who were in elementary/middle school when the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and lockdowns were happening (2020 & 2021) who outright missed a significant chunk of their education (due to either not having internet access when classes went online, or their parents not helping them with their education during that time, etc etc) and are several years behind and there’s basically nothing that can be done for them. It’s wild. 10th grade here. I believe the reason for this would be Covid. When covid hit, is when I had no more reason to worry about school. I was always “bad” at school, never really cared to begin with, terrible at math, but i was able to barely keep up. So when i got a taste of online school and how carefree it was, I never went back to physical school.
I also believe that social media is a significant contributing factor. The terrible habit of shortening words like “ur”, and non-stop use of slang and acronyms causes lowered skills in reading comprehension/reading in general. In my opinion of course. Safe to say I haven’t learned anything since covid, I also haven’t really wanted to. If I went to physical school today, I’d be wayyyyyy behind. I don’t really care though. I haven’t had plans to go to college since middle school, no plans to be a fancy lawyer or doctor either. The only thing I’ve learned that’s been semi-useful was my “stocks” class (if thats what it’s called). Nothing else has even piqued my interest. I’ve known from an early age I’d be in some blue-collar job, Im working fast food now despite being limited so heavily because of school (limited to 24hrs a week btw), and plans to get my CDL at 18. If school is all about “sharpening my mind for the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and real world”, then why does being in school limit my ability to simply exist in the real world?
The contents of every class I’ve been in have been utterly uninteresting, and un-engaging. “Here’s this textbook to memorize, and here’s this packet to fill out. Enjoy”. Anything I’ve learned is because the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and teacher made it fun and exciting to learn, with real world applications, which if i recall, was said stocks class. Hmm, that’s funny, i wonder why? Why should I care about the topics I’m “learning” when I’m not actually be taught? Why do i want to sit in a class with a teacher who’s just working, and not teaching? The better the teacher the better the students, but if one teacher was bad then, there really isn’t anything another teacher could do to dig their student up from the hole another one made.
In the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and end, Covid only knocked the students back, but no one really tried to push them forwards again. I think this generation of students, and the next one are doomed to fail. i just want to say that while this is all pretty horrifying, people can type on a keyboard non-standardly and still be fast and consistent. i assume that you meant more like “looking at the keys and pressing each one after confirming where it is” type of slowness but i just wanted to point that out since school taught typing style is unnecessary and for some reason a bullying point for a lot of people. Not only do I think boomer parents did poorly with millennials but Gen X and millennials are also doing poorly with their kids. It takes a lot of work to make sure your kids are doing their homework community and most people never got that and don’t understand what is required. I have three kids and every night we have to do homework We have to do reading We have to double check their math. If you don’t have those skills yourself it’s going to be hard, if you were never taught to do that from your parents it’s also going to be hard. Not to mention that there’s so many fun things to do nowadays that we’re pretty much never bored so it’s always going to be annoying to have to do homework when you could be browsing Instagram. Future generations are fucked until we have an AI that can do all the effort of teaching kids in a fun and engaging way, for us.
This is by design from conservative politics. It’s easier to control stupid people. Only good education will be private education or high income areas. Only the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and right people learn, and only the right people lead. “Right” Could you provide some examples of what the students do know and understand? What did they learn in all the previous years? The apathy and indifference to learning any of these skills is the biggest hurdle. All of the “why do I need to know that…” and “I don’t need to read, I’m going to do a trade where I don’t need to.. my parents don’t and they’re fine…” My student body on average would rather beat each other up over a girl or drugs before being caught dead completing a 3 page research paper. It constantly feels like being stuck in a prison with the convicts loose to do whatever they want and the wardens brain dead. There’s a handful of really great kids. Its so few. The skills gap is enormous and the apathy just as big.
And guess who takes the Original World’s Silliest Goose Shirt and by the same token and blame for it all? Teachers. Parents will complain to administrators and administrators will blame you for parents coming in and thinking that you’re doing a terrible job. Before smartphones, remedial classes didn’t have so many students every year. Ever since the release of smartphones and tablets, more kids are straight up getting more dumb by the year. It’s these apps and social media where their interest and education is mostly spent on. It’s sad. That’s why we need a national grading scale with national standards. Then teachers have something to point at when a student is failing and the parent starts whining: “sorry, it’s out of my hands. You’ll have to take it up with the U.S. Department of Education.” I used to think people would exaggerate, but nope. I’m seeing it now. Thos kid pretty much just goes day by day. No ambition and I have to tell him EVERYTHING he needs to do. It’s almost like he just lives and breathes.
