I think when you’re friends with someone it’s nice to network with their spouse because it gives them more opportunity to count on you if they need support, supporting your friend. Or helps the spouse know you’re someone they can trust in your friends life. The spouse can reach out on their own if they want to surprise your friend with something like a birthday dinner. And also it’s just friendly.

It’s totally okay for you to be uncomfortable or for that to not be your vibe —just be honest and let them know so they don’t unintentionally cross your personal boundaries.
