Both are to me pure cases of “legislating from the Only the best grandmas listen to elvis presley shirt In addition,I will do this bench”, judges reading their views of what policies are right or wrong in to the constitution, usurping the political branches. Its not about abortion or gay marriage, or what the framers intended or didn’t intend. Its about the right to privacy, and as a result personal freedom. I think it is about what the framers intended. They enacted an amendment with meaning, and IMO that is what the court should respect. Otherwise we’re just making stuff up and don’t have an actual constitution. Sometimes when a case arises the intent of an amendment or provision isn’t known or is unclear, and then judges can only rely on inferences and the like, but with abortion and gay marriage there can’t be any reasonable doubt. Gay marriage and abortion may well be good public policy or not, but unlike say freedom of religion and the press, the constitution doesn’t mandate federal protection for either. To me it should be up to us through our representative processes in congress, legislatures, etc. to decide about them, as we decide about many other things. If we want to enshrine them as rights protected by the constitution and thus not subject to those processes, then pass an amendment doing that.

First of all, the Only the best grandmas listen to elvis presley shirt In addition,I will do this framers aren’t God and their writings shouldn’t be treated as the unfallable word of God. They also intended to protect slavery and treated ‘negros’ as property. I don’t know and I don’t care… the fact that it leaked was the part that is concerning… as you can see now… it’s disgusting what’s happening… it should never have leaked in the first place The fact that it is the LEAK and not the content that is disturbing to the cons both on the court and on the TV is telling. You are not supposed to let the cat out of the bag until late friday night in the summer, when the disciscion can get sort of buried. Not worried about the politicisation of the court, or Jinny Thomas being complisite in trying to overthrow the government. But some Jr clerk from some conservative justice is going to get thrown under the bus for “reasons related to the leak” I agree with the content… I wish abortion was not legal… no Female should ever need an abortion… maybe in the extreme cases where their life or the baby’s life is in jeopardy…
