Worse than Clone Saga IMO It’s not about realism, web shooters are more faithful to the source material and honestly much better to show Peters other characteristics, like his genius, and his ability to improvise. They heighten the stakes and make it much more riveting to read/watch Spiderman heck, the first episode of Ultimate Spider-Man was basically about Peter refusing to use SHIELD’s upgraded higher quality electrical webshooters over his original cheap homemade mechanical ones because he didn’t want to associate himself with them and the development of his webshooters were a big thing in the origin episodes of the 2017 epsiodes too, with him having to figure out how to make them shoot webs at a high PSI and have a long range
