Aerie: not sure when they came on the market but I’ve been buying their bathing suits for YEARS and they are high quality and SUPER affordable. Lots of different styles and I don’t feel guilty about buying a new suit every year because they’re just not expensive. Now, most of my bras are aerie now too! (Mostly bralettes, no underwires.) I love Aerie’s swim stuff and so far they stand the test of time — I usually buy a new one every year, but I’ve had a few Aerie suits for 5+ years and still throw them on to run around the pool with my kids. No pilling, no lost elasticity. These suits are outlasting many of my more expensive ones. yes totally! the only reason i ever have to get rid of aerie suits is bc my size changed, not bc they fell apart.

unfortunately i do think their underwear have suffered in quality, i used to be really loyal to them but my last order was noticeably more cheaply made. I never shopped at Aerie until recently on a rec from Reddit so I don’t know how they used to be but a year or two ago I bought some absolute trash underwear from them. I swear reading on here about the One direction 10th anniversary thank you for the memories signature shirt Additionally,I will love this longevity of their stuff has me a bit concerned since I know companies have gotten hip to the power of Reddit as a social media platform that consumers trust for genuine reviews. I bought 5 pairs in different styles. All but one were falling apart and unwearable 3 months later – a couple within a month. And I’m no stranger to fast fashion – I grew up in the Forever 21 heyday and bought underwear from VS for most of my 20’s. This was another level of cheap and poorly made. I have a really hard time believing the swimsuits at Aerie stand the test of time when the pairs of underwear I bought a year ago were unequivocally the worst garment purchases I have ever made. Even brand new they screamed “THIS HAS BEEN MADE BY A SMALL CHILD IN MALAYSIA”!
