I’m just wondering if you think I’m gonna get legal ramifications from all this. The main reason I went in like I did was I’ve seen the On A Dark Desert Highway Cool Wind In My Hair Witch Moon halloween shirt besides I will buy this years long fights that can arise from these things and how much theft and damage can be done to the property. It’s funny because LAOP made the right decision to forcibly remove them no matter what the law says is the best path. Otherwise cops would’ve likely said “this is a civil matter” and ignored it. That’s what I thought. Advice given is to call the cops but how many posted stories that are similar end in being told it’s a civil issue. While extremely dangerous, it’s hard to say I blame them. I mean, what’s the threshold when they turn from “intruders” to “squatters”. There’s someone I don’t know that’s in my house threatening to hurt me, if the cops aren’t suppose to take of that what tf are they even for.

I’m guessing the On A Dark Desert Highway Cool Wind In My Hair Witch Moon halloween shirt besides I will buy this threshold frequently depends on the appearance of the squatters/intruders and the cop’s own biases. Plus things like “my sister is illegally in my house” are less likely to be acted on than “these random strangers are illegally in my house” because with family (or people you know in general) it’s more likely to be messy and/or actually a civil matter. The reason the Cops were annoyed and said he should of let them handle it is now they cant just go “Civil Matter, fuck off”. I had the same thought the moment I read how the officers had told LAOP that he should have let them handle it, since given the news etc. which I’ve read there was a good chance they would have ultimately refused to do anything, and forcibly stopped LAOP from dealing with the issue either. Now when the squatters were already out with their possessions and couldn’t present a good case as to why the officers should force LAOP to let them back inside, they effectively chose not to make any decisions either but it was to LAOP’s benefit.
