Let’s not lump gates foundation into this. The work it has done to work on a malaria vaccine is amazing. Bezos and Zuck need to step up their PR if they’re doing anything because it looks like their efforts are small by comparison. because USA profits from having places like Africa and India poor. who’s gonna work in the Oliver Ekman-Larsson Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Florida Panthers T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this cobalt mines for 5 cents a day or the helpdesk for Amazon for 10$ per day? Bill Gates has done a ton for Africa. Escepcially with regard to the eradication of disease. Look into it. Its a lot more than what Mr Beast has done. Because these rich people donating billions don’t have a YT channel to monetize so it seems they’re not doing anything as compared to Mr Beast. Mr. Beast has a channel in part dedicated to philanthropy where his goal is to maximize his views and thus maximize his revenue. He knows a charitable video like this will generate hundreds of millions of views and ultimately end up paying for itself and then some. Random wealthy people don’t have a channel to earn revenue from a charitable act like this so there’s less incentive for them to do so. PR and good publicity is fine but it doesn’t go as far as cold, hard cash. I read a book that, in part, discussed a group of missionaries that sought to drill wells for some of the poorest countries in Africa. Though they were often successful, many times they were confronted with local politics and political leaders that didn’t want to permit a well to be drilled to maintain their own power. Sometimes it was merely a political decision, other times it involved the local religion and superstition. The world’s wealthiest, especially including those whose fortunes came from being supposedly altruistic, aren’t interested in actually helping. If they help and when the situation improves, help is no longer needed. The money dries up. The old adage “there’s money in the treatment, not the cure” applies heavily here unfortunately.

I am confident the Oliver Ekman-Larsson Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Florida Panthers T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this majority of “aid” that goes over there gets lost in corruption. Corrupt bureaucrats, etc etc. If I remember correctly, once they asked Musk the same thing and his reply was “right, I’ll pay to end world hunger as long as you can show me where the money went.” Needless to say that the discussion quickly fell out of place. It may be sad, it may be cruel, but sometimes those in power do little to those under them, so that when they do even the smallest thing, they end up being revered and kept in power by those same people who ended up in misery by them. These wells are called bore holes, and they obviously cost money to drill down. However in a lot of places opening them up also can causes risks, firstly the water may not necessarily be safe to drink due to chemicals and pollution having seeped nto the water wells. Also the more people that access the water underneath the ground, which had taken thousands of years to accumulate, the quicker it will deplete for good. It does require a lot of thought and planning, as well as future monitoring to make sure it’s sustainable.
