These people think abortion is child murder and because they are a fundamental part of this parties target demographic it makes it very controversial. This party isn’t going to change its official stance because they’d never win an election again if they did. The two party system in the Ok Motorcycle Dirtbike Riders Shirt so you should to go to store and get this us makes a bunch of single issues very controversial because both these parties need to come out as “pro or against” The US hasn’t decided if it wants to enter the 20th century yet and give women proper human rights. They prefer kicking and screaming in ignorance. Pro choices have not been able to make a good enough argument because we all know that abortion is immoral. The question is whether it should be legal Abortion is complicated by its very nature. I’m not a “religious wacko” but I still think it’s wrong most of the time.

Pro-life folk, at least those who are regular citizens, see abortion as killing humans, no different (or worse, really) than killing an adult human. A lot of pro-choicers like to say that PL just wants to control women and force a population boom. While it’s undoubtedly true sometimes, it’s not always the Ok Motorcycle Dirtbike Riders Shirt so you should to go to store and get this case. Though I think some PL get a kick out of punishing people. Roe V Wade put America in a very unique and somewhat radical situation where abortion was legal until 24 weeks effectively on demand in every state via a rather sketchy and questionable use of an inference from the constitution. Needless to say, this was absolutely not the international consensus in 1972 and no US State or foreign country beforehand allowed abortion in such broad circumstances (in fact only a handful allowed it on demand at all). Even Canada, which since 1988 has allowed abortion until birth, did not have legal abortion on demand at this time. This galvanised opposition to abortion in the US more so than in any other country and in the 80s Reagan capitalised on it by making it a partisan issue. Add a large religious component to society and it became a profitable issue for the Republican Party, and so the Democrats likewise pushed back and support for abortion rights became a profitable issue for them also, with it becoming more and more partisan from the 80s onwards, eventually culminating in Trump appointing justices that overturned Roe in 2022 and the current situation. Ironically, it may be slightly less partisan than it used to be because of the backlash against this removal of a decades long consensus and some Republicans appearing to favour gestational limits over a total ban.
