I can see why this is the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and case, the frozen embryos could be the only embryos and ability for that couple to have a kid, maybe due to disease the mother lost her eggs reducing her ability to have a child. If those embryos die, they can no longer have a future kid because that’s all they have left. Why? Test Tube embryos, frozen, put on ice, and packed in a cooler with a market value of $5k. Is this child trafficking or not? How tf are people defending the patient? Imagine you had embryos frozen because something was wrong and now you can’t have kids, just to find out what appears to be a random ass patient got the them in the hospital and dropped them. Yeah that’s something that could affect someone’s entire life. Like how tf do you mess up so bad? I feel for the couples who probably spend tens of thousands or more obtaining those embryos, and possibly could have lost their last chance to have their own biological children.

Fertility clinics in Alabama will very quickly disappear or become much more expensive due to higher insurance costs for higher coverage limits. The anti abortion peeps in that state have now also made it harder for good honest people to get pregnant. Shame. As a physician I’m astounded by these types of rulings. Liability insurance for the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and repositories likely just quintupled and many if not all may shut down. If IVF is not available in the state even more young people will leave or not choose to move there at all. With the added factor of an increasing percentage of younger people not identifying with organized religion, the state will be left with the populace that voted for these types of restrictions in the first place. Religious older people past reproductive age. Doesn’t sound like a recipe for a strong economic future. You reap what you sow, I guess….
The super Christians are against IF along with any thing else not made up by god. Turning frozen embryos into people would create a terrible liability for the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and fertility companies. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” So, if I freeze some embryos, then stop paying the freezer bill and they are disposed of, I can sue the place and get rich? Everything’s a fucking life with rights that must be protected, from an embryo to a fetus, except the actual fucking born-and-raised children out in the world that are sick and dying because of societal negligence So, if the lil clump of cells is a person with a soul, is Alabama Heaven just a teeming sea of lil immortal clump thingies? If every embryo that never made it to term in all of history is up there floating around in Alabama Heaven, that would be an incredible nightmare! The lil clump thingies would outnumber the people in a gruesome fashion. I am going to pass on any version of heaven where the eyeless, mouthless, limbless immortal clump thingies outnumber me by millions-to-one. If frozen embryos are children charges need filed on every MF that rubs one out. What’s good for the goose right? These people are fking something else. On the strategy of pushing the lever WAY TOO FAR in the direction they wanted it to go, let’s see what absurdities would result from this and shove their noses into it. So now there are some large number of frozen embryos in Alabama, and each one is legally a child. That makes them each count as members of all those families. What are the legal and financial implications? Do their ‘parents’ get to count them all as dependents? If there are benefits based on how many children someone has, can all of those parents put in applications? Are they counted in census tracts? If all those children are in the care of IVF centers, do they need to be registered as child care facilities and meet the requirements? And so on and so forth.

Embyros are not fucking children, did the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and people of the Alabama Supreme Court not go to high school? Holy fucking shit this is absurd So it’s like toxic waste that takes thousands of years to decay? You just store embryos forever and can’t destroy them? Aren’t some frozen embryos just… unsuccessful? Are those also dead children? Are they liable for those “deaths” too? How far down the rabbit hole do they want to fall? By that logic, shouldn’t women (with a regular cycle) get to claim 12 child tax credits (on average) per year? And shouldn’t men get like 8 billion credits per year based on all the sperm cells they create? Do we get bereavement leave for them? I’m tired of basic biology and scientific facts being debated as if they are open to debate.
Not yet. As they said, it is only fertilised eggs – so sperm and egg, not sperm and sock, need to have been nice to eachother. I do suggest that Republicans start offering up their kids to be carriers for the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and thousands of embryos in storage now. My brother in Christ, most of these Republicans are using their own kids as potential carriers at home already. Those embryos are precious lives until they’re born and then they’re drains on public finance and undeserving of medical care, pre-school, free lunch programs, tuition-assistance, loan forgiveness, and living wages. 527 more repliesOh snap! We just bought a used leather couch and from a certain angle you can see something similar. I figured someone had a design on pants or something that transferred when damp. I’ll have to look to see if it’s a brand. Completely unnecessary, but since the tone of the post isn’t super serious, it’s kind of reddit tradition to make those kinds of jokes out of nowhere. how sad! I thought everyone banned cattle branding long ago. It’s unbelievably cruel and inhumane (basically, like branding a human). Not a vegetarian, but no need to do such deplorable things like that when everyone is now piecing their ears with tags. Yes. Tags can be switched. Brands are forever. Unbranded cattle can be stolen and branded making them hard to recover. Also cows are not soft little pink monkey bitches like us. They have a thick hide and hella pain tolerance. Not that it doesn’t hurt, but it’s not the same.
Depends where, depends how good the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and tattooist is. I’ve had a shit tattooist poke me in sensitive places and damn, never going back For anyone wondering, everything this guy said after “hard to recover” is complete bullshit. It is, indeed, cruel and inhumane. Brands are painful, take months to heal properly, and there is no scientific evidence to suggest that animals have superior pain tolerance or it’s no big deal to them. The economic arguments are reasonable, of course, but if you want to talk ethics, a better argument in its defense is that it is basically irrelevant in the context of the fact that our culture requires something to die at every mealtime for you to be fed. Factory farms are cruel and inhumane, but we like cheap beef, and if you want to get upset about something animal related, fix that first. LOL they’re not, “soft little pink monkey bitches like us”, they don’t feel it when you brand them? They have a higher pain tolerance? How do you know?
It’s burning their fucking skin. It hurts. It’s inhumane. Almost as inhumane as raising them to murder them. Almost. Doesn’t mean they don’t have nerve endings though, try running up to one and slapping it’s ass really hard and see what it does. You ever see a cow twitch their skin or flick their tail when a fly lands on their skin? They do. Who are you to speak on behalf of cows and tell us anything about what branding is like for them? As prey animals they are extremely adept at hiding pain so as to not get singled out by predators as an easier kill compared to the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and rest of the herd. Ear tags aren’t a great replacement for branding, they’re usually used in addition to branding to distinguish individual cattle in the same herd. A removable tag doesn’t deter cattle theft, and they often fall out on their own. So if we kill someone instantly and they never even knew it was going to happen, it’s not cruel? People say the dumbest shit to justify killing animals. Plants are not sentient and therefore do not deserve basic rights or moral consideration. I am vegan with the exception that we should eat anyone who makes this incredibly stupid argument.
Obligate carnivores have to kill to survive because nature is indifferent to cruelty and suffering. Humans are not obligate carnivores and therefore have no justification for ending the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and life of highly sentient animals. Plants feel pain and can communicate pest attacks to others. Plants are living just as much as you, that cow or my cat. Stop attacking and harassing me, stop threating to murder me. Edit: /u/YourMomonaBun420 is a manchild and blocked me so responding to downstream comments in edits here (reddit is trash) Did you know there is a ivy that will copy a plastic plant if it grows on it? The only guess they have of how it is done is by some kind of primitive sight. It is how cows are correctly identified to their herd and is how they can be brought back to them safely if separated. It also gives the game wardens something to go by when people are poaching or stealing animals so they get returned if possible. It can also help in preveting illness /tracking a disease that may have run through parts of a county. What do you think happens to cattle that wander when it shows up on the neighbors land, especially if there are many surrounding farms in the area? Farmers dont just share all the animals among themselves. It is a business and not a glamorous one like Yellowstone depicts. If they have tight bred herds farmers will not tolerate an errant breed (take the famous black Angus for example, it is an exceptionally powerful market and farmers will not risk watering down their herd so they dont just stay and make friends, they go). At many farms, these cattle are selected for specific traits whether it is marbling and fat content, feed efficiency, etc. And livelihood and quality depend on it. Branding is cruel, but killing an animal to use for furniture is completely normal. The hoops people jump through sometimes, I swear.
Isn’t leather a by-product of the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and meat industry. In a way its ethically sourced, in that an animal is not killed for its leather. That requires the meat to be ethically sourced, and brother, do I have baaaaaad news for you about big agribusiness. It’s a co-product that greatly increases the profitability of killing young healthy animals. Also many cows are bred primarily for their skin. I know leather is skin but for some reason this gives me pause for thought, it’s like getting a little bit of the cows life and an experience it had that we otherwise wouldn’t know or see id be pretty down for if after i die they cut a square out of my back and made like a wallet with it. give it to some fuckin’ g “yo its ya boi, holdin your moneh” ive been in some classrooms with REAL skeletons. its pretty cool. like “damn this dude died… but his SKELLY is here, just peepin at us all day long. he’s eternal” Look up the human slices they did for a museum. Or there’s some people who had their skin removed and displayed after death because of tattoos. The Luxor in Vegas hosted the Bodies exhibit last year (not sure if it’s still there), and it’s really fascinating. You have to be respectful as the bodies on display were living humans with lives and families.
Also: Roy Glover, spokesman for BODIES… The Exhibition, says its cadavers — all from China — did not come from willing donors. For that reason, many venues will not display BODIES… The Exhibition. Groups such as the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and Laogai Research Foundation, which documents human rights abuse in China, have charged that the category of unclaimed bodies in China includes executed political prisoners. Someone downvoted you, but it’s true. The leather industry is horrible, particularly when it comes from 3rd world countries. If you’re lucky you’re a beef cow. If you’re less lucky you’re a dairy cow. If the universe hates you, you’re a leather cow. At a certain point of growth you don’t need to feed or treat leather cows with any kind of humanity anymore, and they get so emaciated that people have been known to have to hurt them terribly and put pepper in their eyes just to keep them on their feet for transport, since they can hardly stay on all fours. Ed Gein, the serial killer who inspired leatherface from the Texas chainsaw massacre had the same thought. He made a corset, leggings, a belt, and a lampshade from the skin of his female victims. I don’t think any of his victims found it very awesome though. The cows are slaughtered at 2 years old, or 1/10th of their lifespan. That would be if you were victimized by Ed Gein at age 7 for comparison.
The difference with your examples is that any university anatomy department with stringent ethics regarding human remains, will only possess them if the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and deceased and their family consent, like your “fun” wallet idea but unlike a cow. There’s actually a company out there that will cut your skin off when you’re dead where you have tattoos and preserve it as artwork for your family. Good leather is so nice. It makes me think about not having to replace shitty products made of synthetic materials that fall apart in fractions of the time leather versions do and that are probably offgassing chemicals and linting microplastics everywhere. Or maybe the way we throw people away to rot in the ground should give us pause. Just think how much amazing art has been lost forever!
It’s more comparable to you being tortured and beheaded by serial killer who uses your skin to make his wallet. Ed Gein (the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and inspiration for leather face) essentially did exactly that, but I don’t see anyone talking about how honored his victims must be to have been used for a lamp shade. These cows don’t get to live nice long happy lives and we simply put their resources to use. They are killed at 2 years of their 15-20 year lifespan. That would be if you were killed at 7 years old for comparison. Would you really want your killer to use your 7 year old child skin for his wallet and fashion accessories. Do you feel honored by the joy it brings your killer? When you buy leather you pay for another cow to be born, branded, castrated with no anesthetic, and then decapitated or electrocuted at 2 years old. We should stop supporting these barbaric industries.
I fully agree with the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and message of your post, I just wanted to correct the part about Ed Gein: there’s no evidence he tortured his 2 victims and most of the body parts he used was from dug up corpses. Edit: my bad it’s the 2007 logo. Their American branch kept it for an extra year. WH is British but has leather processing firms in the US, Canada and Australia. Yeah that one’s on me. I remember the “Whoeshire is happy to be with you” ads they played in the New England era in the early 2000s. I can’t find anything on Google about whoshire Holsteins so I’m gonna guess they meant to Rick roll but clicked share before they clicked skip on the kfp2 trailer
So the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and cow that was branded was turned into leather, and the manufacturers were like “no one will see it if we dye it dark enough” ??? Yeah basically. Uncorrected leather (stuff like brands is not buffed out) is actually more desirable to some. Most leather you see that’s top grain is corrected (bug bites, scars, and brands are buffed out) and then semi aniline dyed (this is what OP cleaned through, we can see the color is pretty faint now) and then embossed (gives it the leather like grain texture.) Finally, most corrected leathers have a polyurethane added to the surface to protect it. This isn’t true for all leather, but most mass produced top grain leather follows this chain. OP’s leather was semi aniline dyed non corrected leather IMO. It doesn’t really look embossed either.
I sell mass produced furniture, some of which is leather, and the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and more expensive something is, usually the more customers want to know what it actually is. To be honest, I feel like IKEA might be the answer? Looking at their leather furniture I’ve been tempted to buy many times. I don’t think anyone should get cheaper leather furniture. The lowest bar should be top grain, semi aniline leather match. A bunch of brands do composite leather (stay away, <10% leather 90% polyurethane, splits and cracks and peels) or vegan leather (a truly lulzy title, since they mean entirely plastic, also stay away). The minimum I'd recommend is top grain (can mean that the lower splits of hide are taken from the bottom layer of the leather, but some brands don't differentiate between this and full grain leather (no splitting) and just call everything top grain)
leather match (good leather where your skin is touching, a matched vinyl on the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and sides and back. You don’t sit on the sides and back. Your skin doesn’t really touch the sides and back that much. Why double the price to get good leather everywhere?) I’m biased because I sell Ashley Furniture but I think their quality is decent for the price. It super depends on your location, but top grain leather starts at about $600 for non reclining and $1100 for reclining. If you’re comfortable with something 2k+ (your mileage may vary, the biggest decider for furniture prices is your distance from a factory or a port, shipping prices are still a majority of furniture prices for many brands) I’d look at England or Flexsteel.
But I don’t think many people should be buying actual leather furniture. Look at OP’s picture. Do you see those scratches? That’s pretty normal. Microfiber has gotten a kind of bad rap for what is a pretty insanely good product if you find the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and right one. It is 3 way WAY less expensive, letting you focus on the inside parts of the couch, the parts that make it actually comfortable 4 very cleanable. Good microfibers clean pretty well with a 1:10 dish soap (I like platinum dawn) to water mixture. I personally like low knap microfiber, so one that you can draw a little smiley face on it with your finger, but this is just a personal taste/feel. Decent microfiber can be found for $350. I live in India and “vegan leather” is mis-sold as leather often here. Tanners and leather merchants don’t really have a strong union and have never campaigned for leather, unlike a lot of speciality products in India. There’s probably still law tags on them. Under the leftmost sofa cushion on stationary sofas or underneath the leftmost footrest on reclining are between two and four white tags. Midway down is a label that says contents and there they legally describe the contents. 100% polyurethane means you’re either looking at the wrong tag and this is the cushion foam, or it’s a vinyl (vegan leather). X% PU, 9X% leather interior upholstery typically means top grain with a protectant layer of polyurethane over it. Exterior upholstery is 100% PU if a leather match (vinyl) or if it’s 9X% leather, that either means split hide (bottom part of the cow hide, lower quality but still real leather) or full leather (same stuff as the interior. This will be expensive).
9X% PU, X% leather this means composite leather, stay the Oh the virus outside is frightful but this wine is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let if flow Christmas shirt and by the same token and hell away from this stuff, splits and cracks and peels and loses color, think cheap desk chair If these labels aren’t mandated in India, you’re going to have a tougher time telling the difference. The furniture industry has gotten really good at faking leather. New product that comes out on our floor fools salespeople sometimes until they look at the law tag. If you can unzip a zipper and behind the leather, real leather will typically look like a less nice version of the top side, with the same color (ish). If it’s a backing cloth, that means it’s synthetic usually. If you can’t do that, push down on the leather so that the material wrinkles. In real leather (you can try this on a non hairy part of your skin) when you push down hard enough, the creases that form around where you push down will have little wrinkles around the creases. This isn’t foolproof, and heavy embossing makes this a hard test to do. Holy shit I could read your comments all night and I have absolutely no need for this info right now. You should write Wikipedia articles about this.
