Nope, gotta get that sleep! I had to start sleeping with my cats outside my room cause they turn into literal psychos when the Official the Power of Individuality Pretty Pink Movie Tribute T-Shirt and I will buy this sun goes down lmao. My two cats aren’t allowed to sleep with me because I have insomnia and they make it even worse. They’re perfectly happy and are still very affectionate. I got an automatic feeder that feeds my boys at 10 and 4, am and pm. The only thing they do to bother us anymore is pop up when they hear the feeder and run over our chests, but that’s rare. They usually are up at 3:30 staring at the feeder. Nah it’s a good negative reinforcer so that she learns that she can zoom but just not around you when you’re in bed. I do kinda the opposite with mine. At bedtime, I usually leave my door slightly open so she can enter and leave whenever she wants. But, she sometimes likes to “sing” or call out for attention right in between everyone’s bedrooms after 2am. When this happens I get her in my room with me and close the door. She’ll have a few zoomie moments and meow at me to open the door again but calms down after a few min and just chills in her bed or tower looking out the window for the rest of the night. And if she wants to sing, I’m a heavy sleeper and can usually sleep through it and the door is thick so barely anyone else will hear it unless they’re awake at the time. My partner woke up last week in the middle of the night because he couldn’t breathe. Our boy was laying on his chest, purring up a storm, suffocating him with fluff. Cat was ejected from the bed. You’re not a bad cat mom.

My amazing cat/ “the Official the Power of Individuality Pretty Pink Movie Tribute T-Shirt and I will buy this mini menace” is no longer allowed to sleep in my room at night so that I can get enough sleep to be functional at work and she doesn’t get yelled at by a sleepy me who might be more angry than I normally would want to be (having a glass of water knocked off a shelf onto my head while asleep was a bad one lol). We tried a few weeks of “co-sleeping” before I finally had enough and we entered this arrangement. She gets tons of love and attention during the morning and evening when I’m home, and has more toys and climbing structures than she knows what to do with lol. I felt guilty for a long time because I’ve always had my animals sleep on my bed with me before, but sometimes compromises need to be made for the mental health of all lol. I keep hoping she’ll chill out as she ages (only 1-2 or so now based on the vet’s guess), then she’ll be allowed to sleep in the room with me again!
