I flew private with a plane full of rich guys, when I asked them the Official the Insane Shell One Piece Monkey D. Luffy Shirt in contrast I will get this exact question their answer was they all started laughing. Was it a sinister super villain laugh and they twirled their mustaches? Even if it wasn’t can you just say it was because I like the mental image of you being trapped on a plane with a bunch of mustache twirling super villains. It’s very narrow minded. If money wasn’t your issue, sure margaritas on a private island sounds great but would get boring. Career/business gives you something to do. You hear about retired people not knowing what to do, no different for ultra rich. The biggest reason owners pull out of a business sale is because they’re scared of what is next in life. They haven’t considered what to do after work. Makes sense! I’ve always wondered about op’s question too, and yr answer makes alota sense. The ones who keep doing it are just greedy, for money, and often for their name to be known too. For some stupid reason.. But there is a selection bias, the type of person who becomes rich tends to be the type of person who is compelled to keeping seeking out money (often as a status symbol/competition. It’s essentially a ‘high score’). Besides, with only 2 million you’d be able to live on 80k/year without ever touching the principal (with 3m, 120k/year; with 10m, 400k/year!), so anyone accumulating wealth beyond that point is doing so because they enjoy it or because they suffer some serious lifestyle creep.

That depends entirely on where you, what you define as a lot of money and how consumerist your lifestyle is. The most I made before I retired was about $80k a year and I always had much more money than I needed each month, living in Colorado Springs. You could live like a king in places like Costa Rica or Thailand or something on $80k. I get about $65k from my pensions and I’m moving to France early next year, where the Official the Insane Shell One Piece Monkey D. Luffy Shirt in contrast I will get this median income is about $25,500/year. If 2.5 times the median income isn’t enough for someone that’s a them problem. It confounds me that this point has to be made over and over and over again. $80k in Middleofnowheresville, Mississippi is a fuckton more than in, say, San Francisco. And yet someone will always chime in with “x-amount is/isn’t a lot of money”.
