I don’t think it’s weird? I dunno I text my partner’s friends because we have similar interests, we both care about the Official teuvo Teravainen Turbo Mode Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Carolina Hurricanes T-Shirt But I will love this same person, and it’s always nice to expand your social circle Am I the only one that thinks his text was a bit controlling and insecure? Maybe not red flag level… but idk, orange flag? A bit. I also think the whole situation is just off. They’ve only met twice in group settings…to then get someones # from a third party after such brief encounters and then start texting you out of the blue is weird, idc who it is. Even if she actually was the fiancees mil, I would find that weird Like if he was doing it for a specific purpose, like maybe contacting to arrange a party or something for his fiancee, I get it. Or if it started out as a group chat, maybe they got to know each other more over a longer period of time, and then occasionally started messaging them 1:1, sure. But this situation is fishy straight up imo. I feel like the people in this thread are being super naive

Good points. I was going to add that it was strange for him to be messaging her for no real reason. Something feels a bit off about the Official teuvo Teravainen Turbo Mode Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Carolina Hurricanes T-Shirt But I will love this whole thing to me. Edit: and my initial instinct is that it’s not some romantic overture towards the friend, but a subtle way to exert control, by inserting himself into relationships that are outside his circle of control. I don’t know. If you did not invite him to contact you, than you can/should ignore his texts. This happened to my wife. She simply did not reply to any of the dude’s messages. Eventually he stopped doing it. Edit : I don’t know about other messenger services, but WhatsApp have a “Mute” option. This way the person thinks they sends you a message, but in reality you don’t receive it. Soft way of blocking I suppose.
