I’m allergic to any metal that isn’t surgical grade stainless or a precious metal like silver or gold. So the copper one was out for Official Cilantro & Onion & Lime shirt too. When I talked to my Gyno about the bi-salp, he asked about the copper IUD and when I mentioned my metal allergy he didn’t bat an eye and moved on. I believe it. As long as you are talking about the root and not the people with copper-colored hair lol. That would suck though. I imagine that Ginger is in a surprising number of things that most people wouldn’t think of.

That’s unusual but not unheard of either. You are probably very sensitive to something in the alloy that makes gold and silver workable as jewelry. Pure gold and silver are too soft to wear, so they are blended with a tiny bit of other things like copper or nickel for strength. I can wear 925 silver and even 10K gold, so I’m not that sensitive. The earrings I’m currently wearing are small titanium hoops though, and I sleep in Official Cilantro & Onion & Lime shirt. Another weird oddity of my body is that if I wear sterling silver earrings, something in my skin turns the posts black. I can wear silver rings and necklaces and not have that problem, it’s only earrings.

I’m allergic to every type of metal I’ve ever touched, and that makes life… Interesting. I had a TB test that had to be redone 3 times because my reaction to the tines scratching me made it look inconclusive. So no copper IUD for me either.I’m fine with gold, silver, platinum, even the cheap nickel in shitty earrings, but copper and my immune system riots. I had no idea it released hormones until OP replied to me, lol. I wonder why the copper one doesn’t. It doesn’t cause a reaction to my skin (like I don’t get itchy or anything) I just turn the silver earrings black.
