I’ve done San Jose to Seattle by car. I always stop and take 20-30 minute cat naps about every 4 hours. 850 miles. About my limit. I’ve done Colorado Springs area to Rochester MN area – about 960 miles as solo driver. I wasn’t alone, but I was rockin’ it and just kept driving. Done that multiple times, each way. Sunglasses on/off so your eyes get some exercise. Sing to yourself… If there was a highway system where the road cantered to such a degree that changing the direction of travel was possible without turning the steering wheel, you could in fact drive “straight” across the country. My max was 11 hours but only about 230 miles. I was also driving in an awful snow storm and should have stopped somewhere for the night but was young and dumb. I only made it thanks to chainsmoking.
