I’m a professional extra in movies/TV shows and I’ve smoked these a bunch. They’re pretty awful, honestly I’d much prefer regular cigarettes when a scene calls for it and I don’t even smoke. I remember reading about “Cigarette Smoking Man” from the Obey style layne staley classic shirt moreover I will buy this X-Files that the actor was either a ex-smoker or even a non-smoker and that he smoked these all the time. The Smoking Man from The X-Files smoked these and absolutely hated them. I have no sources to cite except my memory of an old interview. Yup this is what we use. I find the smell of them on set pretty rancid – I’d actually prefer the smell of real cigarettes over herbals any day, but you certainly we don’t want anyone getting addicted just because of a role they played so it’s the way to go!

lol imagine being an actor smoking tea leaves. got that picture in your head? you’re imagining a guy imagining himself to be a guy smoking rolled up tea leaves imagining itself being a cigarette. Most of the Obey style layne staley classic shirt moreover I will buy this people got influenced because the hero was shown smoking. This became a standard to look cool and I guess mostly fell for this trap. Meanwhile, the actors were smoking herbal cigarettes. People smoked tobacco, resulting in health issues. It’s not the nicotine that kills. It’s the smooooookkeee, the smooooookkkkeee. Cancer (it’s the smoke) heart disease (it’s the smoke) respiratory disease (it’s the smooookkee).
