The newborn period is rough in general. Some babies are “worse” than others, but I wouldn’t decide if your baby is “easy” or “difficult” just yet. Or even better, don’t compare at all. I’m in the US and wondered about this as well because of the WHO recommendation for breast feeding! Thanks for sharing! I won’t be in any hurry to stop formula at the 1 year mark. If your baby is otherwise healthy and is capable of eating food it’s recommended to wean off formula at 1 and switch over to food. The reason for this is because they need more protein and iron than formula offers. Prolonged bottle feeding is also correlated with cavities and tooth decay because their teeth are in contact with the sugars in breast milk, cows milk/milk alternatives or juice more so than if they were not using a bottle. It can also cause them to be drinking more milk than they actually need causing them to eat less solid food. At 12 months they shouldn’t be getting more than 24oz of any kind of milk a day That’s all valid. But LO will have to drink something, along with eating solids, and I’d rather it be nutritious. I wouldn’t plan on continuing to offer it in a bottle, either. Hoping she’ll be cup trained by then.
