I see a lot of people saying their insurance has gone up massively, but I was checking quotes on random cars a few weeks ago and they all seemed fairly similar to previous quotes I’ve had when looking at cars both last year and a few years back. My existing car has gone up maybe £10-£20 compared to previous years, which is more than acceptable to me. And the jump up is probably proportional to what some for folk have seen. but the difference has meant it’s gone from expensive but affordable to a major part of my annual wage. no chance. Changed jo, and it went down to 1200. Which was still a shitty increase for no added benefit

Obviously a lot of variables when it comes to insurance but mine went from £950 to £1900 with no changes on my end. 9 years NCB, no convictions or claims. Also we bought it via topcashback which means our insurance came out to less than £170 for the year on a 4×4. (We aren’t old phogies but we have been driving now 18 years and full NCD etc). Anecdotal I know, but I’ve just had my Aviva renewal notice and they’ve quoted me £20 LESS for this year vs last year. I’d been dreading it going up or doubling given what basically everyone has been experiencing recently. For me it was Churchill, surprisingly since I made a claim but protected it. Still went up £130 for the year but cheaper than the rest.
