It’s the longest I’ve had a phone since phones have been a thing and I don’t see a reason to upgrade at this point. They are, though. At least iPhones are, I can’t realistically speak for other brands because for as long as I’ve had smartphones, I’ve only ever had iPhones. The iPhone 5 lasted me from 2012 to 2017 and the iPhone 8 Plus lasted me from 2017 to autumn of last year when I upgraded it to the iPhone 13. It would’ve lasted longer, too, the only reason I got a new phone was because I wanted a new phone, not because I needed one. I just replaced my xperia Z ladt year, after having it since release(2013), could have used it more if I didnt crack the backside and the dust clogged it up over time and was overheating 🙂

It looks and feels brand new. Batter is still well above 90% efficiency. Can’t see myself changing it any time soon. The note 9 I had was seriously one of the best phones I’ve ever had, and could still do things very well and could have easily kept it for much longer than 3 years! But because dumbfucks at samsung decided to cease OS updates in 2 years and quarterly bullshit updates for 1 year, I switched to Apple. They can shove their shitty phone products up their arse including the galaxy buds pro which there’s currently a class action lawsuit on. I bought the original galaxy buds and they were the biggest waste of money ever. Killed me as it was the first time I’d actually bought an expensive electronic on release..
