If you can pinpoint it, you can make your dentist aware. Unfortunately, the Nick Chubb American football running back for Cleveland Browns T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this things in your mouth is a crapshoot, that’s required. Depending on when you went last, a lot of the technology has changed. Begone, sharp pointy scrapey things! Here’s a list of suggestions for things you can do: Ask to sit up a bit higher than they’d usually request. Bring earplugs or music to cover the sound of the tools. Bring a fidget toy for nerves. Ask for the little mirror on the lamp to be angled so you can see what they’re doing (or close your eyes!). If you’re scared of gagging for x-rays, ask if you can insert the bit yourself (I always do, they just check I place it right). Ask for a break for sitting up to rinse and spit during treatment, it’s not always possible, but often enough. Ask for more numbing agent if you can feel any pain. Let them know of your previous addiction and that for some numbing agents you may need larger doses, and that there are medications you shouldn’t take as they can be triggering (especially benzos, I’m guessing).
