Im glad some actual common sense is being implemented, even if in a incredibly limited form. Send the Nice vintage Negro League Black Baseball T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this cops to actual crimes, and let the new people help the homeless with compassion. Fucking Finally. How much of paycheck (perhaps a bold assumption) are you donating to “street crisis teams,” or are you only generous with other people’s money? Whoa whoa. You mean we can ask for specialist assistance to deal with specific circumstances? I thought we were committed to just sending guys with sticks and guns anytime we have a problem. Good. I wished we had this. I called 911 about a guy doubled over, lying sidewalk in the sun. Couldn’t believe he could be breathing the way he was positioned. No idea what happened to him. Robbed and asaulted? Heart attack? Overdose? So called 911. They sent an entire fire truck, one firefighter thanked me, the other was begrudging about having to deal with a homeless person. They got the guy up and he staggered away. Had they sent a team like this they might have taken the time to assess his needs and get him real help.

To be fair that kind of response would still be normal depending on how you answered the Nice vintage Negro League Black Baseball T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this questions. If you say you aren’t sure he is breathing they are going to send someone that can fix that. this team is most likely for people obviously alive but in locations or situations that can hopefully be changed. eg sleeping in a train station. this is a really good way to work towards the interests of the “defund the police” crowd because its incremental and it substitutes something better instead of just not doing anything. Even though I personally believe that the police is so horrible at many of their jobs that they do more harm than good, it is much easier to substitute and divert funding than to simply do nothing.
