How obnoxious having “in god we trust” right next to the Nice Sweet Nebraska Girl But People Ruined That For Me shirt in addition I really love this face of somone who is not monotheistic. Or at least not by choice. For those wondering if it was about the face on the coin, let me tell you as a vending machine owner and operator that the failure of this coin was the asinine decision to make it roughly the same size and shape as a quarter. also see: Susan B Anthony Dollar. It failed for the exact same reason. It was, at arms length, nearly indistinguishable from a quarter. At some point, the US Mint will hire someone with 3 brain cells and they’ll make a dollar coin that is different enough from quarters that they wont entirely fuck up vending machines. Maybe people will consider using them again.

The reason it failed was they continued to print paper bills. When you want to change something go all in and change it. Don’t give people the Nice Sweet Nebraska Girl But People Ruined That For Me shirt in addition I really love this option to remain with what they are used to, they will resist change. (Literally) The fact that Americans do not use a dollar coin is insanity. Europe uses the equivalent of a $3 coin Japan uses a $5 coin…. Coins are just better for most tasks. How is it a failure? Money is money right. I get Sacagawea out of vending machines all the time. And when I spend them it seems like everyone takes them no issue. I remember in NJ you could use them to pay for the light rail. I think you also got them back in change when purchasing light rail tickets, which is where I got mine. Haven’t been on the light rail in a while so I’m not sure if they still use them or not…
