I adore Shea but she didn’t have 2 decades of drag experience behind her, nor is she as good of a lip syncer as Sasha Colby is. It could also be said that Sasha Velour was such a surprise bc of the Nhl Colorado Avalanche 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs Driven one way our way shirt in other words I will buy this edit. We’ve seen what the other 3 finalists can do and Anetra is the only one who stacks up to Sasha and in a 5th lip sync, her surprises are limited. This is also the correct take. Sasha has been doing drag longer than the show has been around, and was doing drag before 90% of the queens that have been cast on this show. Sasha Colby (and the Colby Dynasty) has notoriety in not just local drag scenes but world wide drag scenes. Sasha still has so much to show when it comes to performing. She has decades worth of material and she knows what sells and what gets eaten up. Anetra could do “gravity defying moves” and Sasha could just whip her pony and still win.

Shea lost to someone who had years of art education and understood the Nhl Colorado Avalanche 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs Driven one way our way shirt in other words I will buy this theatricality of what to deliver when it came to the stage and the moment. Watching S9 back, the fact that Sasha was considered an underdog is wild to me. No one expected her to deliver something so iconic as the roses, but I definitely expected her to pt up a fight against Shea and everyone else. I think this is why it’s really realistically a one horse race. The only possible competition is Anetra but Sasha excels at pretty much everything Anetra does. Whenever there’s an underdog winner, they usually do very different drag than the front runner, which makes it easy to justify. Sasha is a total package with legendary status and no fumbles along the way. It will be hard to justify anyone else taking it.
