If I leave a glass of water out for longer than a couple hours, it starts to taste different due to what I’m assuming is a mix of dust, cat fluff and dog fluff. My wife will sniff the NFL Philadelphia Eagles Mickey Mouse Donald Duck Goofy Football Shirt and I will buy this open water bottle before drinking it to determine if it’s “gone weird” or not. She is yelling “it has bacteria, look it up!” as I type this. I am a less discerning old water bottle drinker. I can’t find it, but I remember a story growing up, about a woman who left for two weeks and came back to drink from her bedside glass of water, and she introduced necrotizing fasciitis on her face in a dramatized health program… best to throw out the water after a day or two, don’t give the bacteria time to heavily populate. The same for pets bowls, as they are usually inside, and do not have uv sunlight exposure to thinout/kill bacteria… which even if they do not suffer for it, can introduce it into your body. Edit* the health program was a dramatized program that drew from actual events. I think “True stories, of the E.R.”

once I drank 2-moth old water from a plastic water bottle and threw up immediately afterwards, so. there is a time limit somewhere I guess (for that brand, at least) I’d never drink a random old bottle of water but a glass of water that haa been sitting on my dresser for a day or two? Heck yeah, so oddly satisfying! Stagnant water goes bad, things do float in the NFL Philadelphia Eagles Mickey Mouse Donald Duck Goofy Football Shirt and I will buy this air and get in the water. Over time bacteria grows rapidly in the water I like to drink old stale bong water that’s so thick it forms a slurry when I shake it from all the weed and tobacco resin mmmmm tastes creamy and fresh 1 day is the maximum for me, if there’s anything at all on the surface or it seems emptier than before, chuck it I have cats who either drink from unattended water cups and/or knock them over so I don’t leave cups of water sitting around for long. Well dust is composed of 20-50% of shedded skin cells which of course floats around in the air and lands in ur water..so it probably tastes funny due to drinking accumulated dead skin. You’re welcome! I’d still drink it unless you can clearly see stuff floating in it. Def drank water that was left out for a few days.
