It’s like nations have different names in different languages like everything else in that language. While speaking English use the NFL Football Buffalo Bills Cheerful Mickey Mouse Shirt and I love this English names. If you are speaking French or Chinese or Japanese or another other of the thousand languages use the term in that language. I don’t expect Chinese people randomly say America when talking about my country why should I be told I should call China Zhōngguó There is some colonialism still involved as well. For example, I spent the last summer in Qatar. The locals pronounce it like guitar with a Q instead of a G. But many people still refer to it as Cutter because that is what the English decided to call it. I refer to it now like the locals announce it because that seems like the best option.

Also its a pronounciation issue. In chinese they also got different words for all the NFL Football Buffalo Bills Cheerful Mickey Mouse Shirt and I love this world’s countries cuz its easier to pronounce. It would make it so difficult for foreigner to attempt and spell out their country name. Probably gonna butcher it along the way. Now say “Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit”. Well, India just changed its name so i don’t know why most people would know, I didn’t know Japan went by that and Spanish speaking countries are just saying United States in Spanish to they are calling the US is name. Outside of that, idk
