You should only be delaying if you’ve completed final interviews and are waiting to hear back. I mean, if you wanted to play your options you could have accepted your options and then rescinded if you had gotten another offer. The whole point of a window is to weigh your options before accepting any offers. Rescinding an offer after accepting has consequences and can hurt you if you seek employment within the same company (or even industry) in the future. Because I was under the impression I had until the 23rd and accepting a job offer only to reject it would be seen as unprofessional and may hurt my chances of getting offers on LinkedIn the job hiring site I use. I’m not sure how accepting and then rejecting an offer would have any affect on your LinkedIn. It’s not like the company can write a negative review on your profile. For future reference, it’s bonkers not to immediately accept a job offer if you want it. An offer is not a signed contract and it can be withdrawn at any time for any reason.
