Oh god, I work as I bartender and I was so happy that is almost finish of work for today and then, yup, time change xd I think everyone just work extra hour. Nightclub industry is interesting when the New York Rangers Hockey Club 1926 T-Shirt moreover I will buy this clock tells you when to stop serving alcohol. Some take advantage of the extra hour and when an hour is lost they’ll just close up at the next hour. Depends. I could have worked the extra hour but my Sunday relief arrives during my last hour. Since it was slow I opted to just leave “early”. As an hourly employee I always get paid for the amount of time I work unless you get paid 1 hr less when the clocks go 1hr forward, you just suck it up, next time you’ll work 1 hr less And in the spring, lose the hour and its pay. But then have to hustle to get all your tasks done during the shortened shift. At my job, I have to work the extra hour, which I do get paid for. If I work the time change in the spring, I work 7 hours, but get paid for 8. (Factory mechanic) At my facility, we split the extra hour with the day shift. So in the fall, they come in a half hour early and let us go home at 6:30. In the spring, we stay a half hour late so they can come in at 7:30. Depends on the work pattern, where I was there were 2 12hr shifts and 7 day weeks. For the first while there was an agreement where the day shift came in half an hour earlier and nights worked half an hour longer for a while but some people didn’t like that, so they changed things that the night shift got an extra hours pay and time in lieu. On a 24/7 pattern it actually worked out ok because the same shift got the benefit of finishing an hour early when they went forward.

Where I work, I left an hour “early” if that makes sense. I start my shift at 1:30am and end at 10:00am, so I left at 9:00am. I still get my 8 hours. We don’t get paid for it. Didn’t get paid at my last place either. On the New York Rangers Hockey Club 1926 T-Shirt moreover I will buy this flip side when time goes forward you still get paid a full shift. Not a fan but is what it is. It’s common in the profession, on the joys of being a first responder. We essentially work an extra hour for one night but also get paid for the extra hour. It just comes with the territory At my fire department, if you’re working when it rolls back an hour you get an hour of OT. If you’re working when it jumps forward you use an hour of PTO. Instead of working 10-7, I was scheduled 10-6 and was given the option to work the extra hour. No one on my shift did. I worked from 10pm to 8am and whenever the clocks went back we got paid an hour of OT because even though the clock changes, the system still recognized that we worked 11 hours instead of 10. If the clocks turn back you get paid for 9 hours. If the clock turns forward and you work only 7 hours you still get paid for 8. In Scotland working in the Licensed Trade at least, business hours follow the times that you start. So if you work from 7pm-3am, you would finish at 2am because its technically 3am. Maybe this has to do with the alcohol license and so only applies to bars and clubs etc. But I would be surprised if that was the case.
