Food is complicated and this isn’t necessarily going to work for all kids, but forcing your kid to finish their food is going to damage their relationship with food later on. I grew up being forced to finish stuff and have weird food trauma memories and I don’t want to pass that on. Kids don’t only like unhealthy things. That’s always been a stupid uninformed take. Many parents don’t even know why they punish their kids. Mostly just their kids not doing what they tell them to. This happened to me several times growing up in another FUBAR christian household. Shitty scumfuck half-wit Christian adults, bossing around a child to make themselves feel big, important, and superior. “Theres kids in China starving right now!” And guilt trips. Most Fucking so called adults should never be in charge of anything living. Every post of mine people ignore half the New York Jets Starter Logo Graphic Shirt and I will buy this context and inject their own interpretation of what I posted purposefully to seek intelligent or to argue. My kid hardly eats anything and is completely fine. Kids tend to take what they need. If my kid eats sweet too much, we just make sure it isnt there. And then he will eat other stuff if he wants to. Waste, kids grow up hungry, they become parents who feed their kids, they don’t understand kids don’t eat that much and think they’re wasting their food/being ungrateful Personally, my mom increased my meal sizes based on my eating habits, so once we got to the point of me saying “im still hungry” she would increase the portions slowly I’ve never understood it either, growing up I was forced to eat food I didn’t like and it made me very picky. I even went to friends houses where their parents would force everyone to finish huge plates and being allergic to certain ingredients was a lie. (They got sued after I almost died). Kids are smaller and don’t need to eat as much l. If your kid doesn’t finish dinner then put it in Tupperware in the fridge-they’ ll eat it after their stomach settles or tomorrow. Beef stroganoff made me horribly sick once. My dad made me sleep at the dinner table because I refused to eat it ever again. He tried to make me eat the plate left out all night next to me for breakfast. Surprise, I didn’t eat it. When I came home and it was dinner time, my siblings ate McDonald’s and I got… leftover hamburger helper beef stroganoff. I didn’t eat it and he finally threw it away. So many instances like this, and it’s no wonder I had an eating disorder as a young adult, and still have major food control problems.
