We knew stupidity was coming but this sweeping nature could have only come from someplace as ass backwards as Alabama… This is going to have so many knock on effects. Also, what happens to all the New York Jets Marvel Wolverine Deadpool True Friends shirt and by the same token and embryos in storage? Moving them is incredibly expensive and risky at that scale. Is every stem cell and tissue bank now liable? They’ll pull out in droves… And there goes cord banks, stem cell storage for Myeloma treatment, autologous transplant just big yikes. Who is liable for those embryos now and what’s their plan for supporting them. Storage ain’t cheap. Alabama is about as backwards as it gets. So many smart people in the northern part and then you drive 20 miles south and it’s just sad. You’ve got it! It’s really fun being a woman in America. I’m having a great time. Can’t wait to see what other ways I can be made into a second class citizen.

Birth control ban is next. These men wrote the New York Jets Marvel Wolverine Deadpool True Friends shirt and by the same token and “Handmaidens Tale” for Alabama. They need to be voted out in every state. Women should never have sex with these men. That’s not how the morning after pill works. If you’ve already dropped an egg for that month then the pill just doesn’t do anything. Hey, hey, hey, don’t let facts get involved here, this is the internet. I have to admit that I had no idea how they worked other than “medical magic”. I will just change my comment to abortion after day 0 rather than however many weeks grace the Republicans gave. Women won’t have much of a choice when they go back to to stuff like not even being able to get a bank account and are forced to become dependent on men again. Isn’t that a lot of foster kids that the state just took on? The fertility clinics will have to close so who is responsible for keeping the freezers up and running with temperature checks and a policy for when the power goes out? If I were an IVF facility, I’d have the electric bill paid up for the month, BOUNCE, and have a post-it note on each judges desk saying “Lil 1235-A likes it -197 degrees but 23133-A wants it a bit warmer at -195. Good luck and by the way we took the back up generator because it was expensive” That would be absolutely devastating for the people who are counting on those embryos. I got an average of one frozen embryo for each egg retrieval cycle (none in cycle 1, two in cycle 2 and one in cycle 3). That’s one frozen embryo after weeks of regular monitoring (usually several weeks of transvaginal ultrasounds and blood work), weeks of shots at home, having to take time off of work last minute when they decide that it’s time for egg retrieval, having to come in at 6am for the retrieval, recovering from anesthesia & the immediate pain, the day or two of being unable to stand up without help and pain, the two weeks of bloating/pain/recovery from overstimulated ovaries, and then for me a couple months until I’m back to my usual level of physical fitness (my sister reported feeling fine after a couple weeks, but I had a lot of trouble with physical activity for while longer). Also the whole process costs thousands of dollars and you don’t know if implantation will be possible or successful (I was told I would have 40-50% chance of implantation per embryo, with ongoing medication). It would be really hard to have the IVF clinic just walk away after everything I did to give ourselves the best chance at success.
