Fuck that. I lost most of my twenties paying off my debt and living frugally. If there is student loan forgiveness I want my fucking $100,000 back. I am of two minds on this, if they forgive student loans then the New Years Eve Party Supplies Lights 2023 Happy New Year T-Shirt moreover I will buy this US government should get out of the business completely and not provide any backstop for private lenders who stay in the business. Or the government can make the interest rate 0 for loans it backs with a yearly $100 loan servicing fee to pay for administration of the loan program. Sure can. Conservatives do it all the time… they push for tax breaks for the rich and most conservatives will never see a dime of it. This is a sure fire way to increase the cost of college. First find a way to bring cost under control… then consider debt forgiveness.

I want my taxes to pay for everyone to go to school, full stop. I was lucky enough to be able to get good well paying employment in my field of study and paid off my loans in 1/3 the New Years Eve Party Supplies Lights 2023 Happy New Year T-Shirt moreover I will buy this time I was supposed to. Not everyone is this lucky, if I wasn’t I would likely have been paying back my loans until I was 50 or longer instead of until I was 28. Dude me too but I fail to understand how this plan achieves that. Literally 4 years from now class of 2026 will come out with another huge bill and we back in this cycle all over again. I wish there was a more comprehensive approach to this. I am all for this but we also need to change the way universities work, improve education broadly, and also, make better choices about career pathing. Not everyone needs college or wants it. I want people to pursue whatever they want to do in life but also understand the trade offs of being say, a philosophy major that wants to be a freelance writer versus the engineer who wants to get hired by a large firm right out of school. Both have very different personal finance implications. Dude not even democrats actually want to erase student debt. You kidding me? Those are the people directly benefiting from the educational industrial complex itself and you think theyre just going to leave that money on the table? They’ll lie through their teeth 100% just to get you to vote for them. Theyre sociopaths… have you ever seen a sociopath really work people? You can think all you want that these people are genuine but you have no fucking clue… its like a drug addict who will be whatever you want them to be to get their fix… THATS the kind of people they are and no way in hell are they going to “forgive” ANY debt. Thats their fucking bread and butter…
