Imo consecrated snowfields and mountaintops of the giants should have been combined together and also shrunken down, cause as is now there’s just so little actually there. Few hours late so this will probably fly under the radar. My only real complaint is the difficulty of some bosses, not so much that they’re as difficult as they are, but the reason they’re difficult. I know Malenia is a hot topic, but I think there’s some reasonable criticism to be had with how the fight is designed. I enjoy challenging fights, I think most people here do. Challenge is a cornerstone of FS games, but having an otherwise “par” boss fight with a single absurdly difficult “super-move” to deal with is not a direction I’m too fond of (and she’s not the only boss that does this). Best thing to compare her against is probably Friede from DS3, both fast, both staggerable, both generated enough salt to fill a football stadium. Difference is that with Friede every move was dangerous, but none of them individually felt absurd. With Malenia she has exactly one move that’s truly dangerous, and more often than not her other moves are just kinda there for fluff. Is that objectively a bad thing? I don’t know, I’m just a guy with keyboard. But I’m not a fan of it. I know it’s not the first time they’ve done this with bosses, SoC had his big combo and Meteor Demon Prince’s signature move was also a source of great pain, to the point where the best strategy was “Make sure you get the laser prince lol”, but at least SoC’s combo didn’t also have him fly across the arena to catch you.

But as for the actual game itself… I guess not having a quest checkpoint menu (where we can see the different quests’ completed progress, as well as what the next objective is for each quest that we haven’t completed. Kinda the way that most video games with quests work. Post-Landell bosses deal way the rot too much damage. Also high ranking mobs. I get that it’s supposed to be a souls game, but when Margott is leaps and bounds easier than even high ranking mooks we’ve got a problem. Keep invading in enclosed spaces or at least smaller spaces, maybe get some fog walls around so invaders can’t just constantly book it disappear and come back 20 minutes later
