In Bristol for example there is even one specifically for introverts. So I’d look for social running clubs. Facebook is good for this. Some will end the run at a pub so you can have drink and a chat at the end. They will often arrange social events you can attend too. Or volunteer to help at your local Parkrun. Meetup.com will have hiking and rambling groups you can join. I’m sure there will be anime related ones who meet for coffee or arrange trips to conventions. If not maybe you could set something up and see if others will join you. I know discord groups exist for meetups but I’m not really across that platform so don’t quite know how you find them. You could take a class in something like rope climbing, woodworking, pottery…whatever you’d like to learn. Then you’ll probably be with a group for the duration of the course and might make friends. I think focusing it around an interest you have is good because you always have that in common with the others and can talk about it. Then hopefully you find people you have more in common with and form some friendships.

I’d have said hobby shops are your best bet. But if you look on Facebook, you may find groups of tabletop gamers in your area. I’m introvert. I’m more than happy talking to individuals. I can approach individuals. Even people I don’t know. Its the group thing I don’t like. The group has a mind if its own where rational can go out of the window. Lads started using peer pressure etc to get other lads to do stupid things.I hate going to busy places. Much much happier when rhere’s only a few people. The classic thing I don’t like it groups is “dares” or “shares of something that has happened to the group” group interaction saps my energy.
