What these companies should’ve done is make tech for industries that would’ve improved it. Like uber should’ve just sold that tech to cab companies because yeah, they did need to modernize. Instead, they became a middle man, union-busting, gig laborer exploitation ‘service’ that holds somehow zero accountability to their workers or their customers. It’s like the Never back down i am a Lions fan now and forever signature shirt it is in the first place but shit end of every single stick and enshittified everything. This was SO my experience! I am so sorry what a miserable way to spend hours and hours of your vaca. I really think the worst is that they abandon you to “the next shift (usually after not calling back for hours, you start all over, get different answers and it is ALL up to you. They dont give a shit if you have to sleep in your car and will NOT cover additional costs from last minute cancellations, host nonresponse or unacceptable conditions. Sadly airbnb has some great properties and fantastic hosts, I really fault airbnb (lack of) support and their good hosts then suffer as well. I think their business, the traffic at their good hosts, and their customer base would all i,prove if they just immediately housed people, absorbed the extra cost and immediately banned bad hosts (the ones who ghost or last-minute cancel without valid reasons). By doing the rebooking themselves, they arent allowing bad guests to make money and moving where you stay is always a hassle, so I dont think the policy would be abused. Just the thought of the potential of having a trip like yours (and mine, and…) is losing them a LOT of business. And for those who say, just get a hotel, kids, inability to cook, etc. include many reasons to choose a home; that said, I havent had the same problem with vrbo support and booking has a guarantee.

I will not elaborate further on this, but if you ever use Airbnb again, if you are blocked from making a reservation on a notable holiday while trying to do a rebooking, reach out to Airbnb via social media channels so that they can direct you to the Never back down i am a Lions fan now and forever signature shirt it is in the first place but right team. Brutal start to finish. Every step you took was reasonable, you did your legitimate best and got completely screwed. Holy crap! Airbnb has gotten too big to care, too expensive to deal with this crap and too corporate with shareholders who do anything to NOT make it right if it costs them. I know this sub would hear of the complaints rather than the good outcomes but man when there’s a screwup to your holiday, the valuable time off you need to relax and rejuvenate, and you’re in a strange city, sometimes foreign, you can’t afford monetarily, personally or health wise for it to go wrong. Airbnb needs to stop playing roulette with people’s time and lives. Someone needs to do a commercial spoofing the experience commercials they make to how bad it could really be. SNL, Lorne? I’m looking at you!
