That’s exactly the NBA Referee player poster shirt and I love this right ratio of dumb to clever I want for those jerks who ask you to tell them a joke as part of a job interview. Each instance of mansplanation includes a male human individual conducting, carrying out, and/or undertaking an explanation, elaboration, description, and/or elucidation; provided however, that the hereinabove notwithstanding, each such explanation and/or description performed by a male human individual need not be an occasion of Mansplainment, unless and until such other and/or further conditions are met as are sufficient to constitute the same. At this point it’s even starting to move beyond men explaining. It’s just that it’s typically men talking down to women. I’ve seen women being described as mansplaining too. It’s transcending gender It’s not just talking down to someone. It’s assuming the person you are talking to knows nothing about the topic because of their gender.

There probably are women who try to explain childcare to men who are already single parents, but I’ve not seen it yet. How strangers treat you as a man when you have a young kid is… Interesting. Having a woman “mansplain” childcare is like the NBA Referee player poster shirt and I love this least offensive and weird energy you get. I read about someone who was FTM and went back to their field in science as “her brother” and was shocked at how different the treatment was. His colleagues took his work more seriously and treated him with a lot more respect. There is that. But there’s also still not feeling safe cuz trans, but no longer knowing the women in the room have your back in your not feeling safe-ness For what it’s worth, I support your right to be who you are. I wish I could do something to help you feel safe. I’m not sure how to articulate this properly but… sometimes I think it took me so long to figure out I was trans because my brain was waiting for me to have enough practice with not feeling safe. This is just my personal experience but there’s really nothing transphobes can expose me to that I haven’t already dealt with from people I cared about more just for different reasons. I mostly have mastered the art of dissociating to handle, and emotionally processing after. It’s not a good art to know this well, but highly useful to know given the point in history at which I am trans
