School is a niche environment where a specific skill set gets praised. Most problem solving requires focus, which often separates the Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Player Skyline T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this better students. But it doesn’t teach and street smarts, how to talk to people, or how to market yourself. The world is very different when someone gives you an objective and you have to solve it vs trying to find several objectives and prioritising it’s importance. Household chores are no more a measure of intelligence than academic work. Mensa has even been on record saying that FRTs are wholly unreliable because there are many, many measures of IQ. Having success in school is great, but it is no more an achievement than being good with your hands or having excellent people skills. Really, I find the truest measure of intelligence is how well you respond to problems with the tools at your disposal: if you are absolutely useless at carpentry, making a box is still impressive. I derive that understanding from multiple university courses on how the brain functions and what happens to us as we develop, these were not my own findings and few people are qualified to speak on the matter of accurately assessing intelligence.

This is usually because IQ is assessed on a basis of crystalised and fluid intelligence, meaning how much do you know and how well can you apply what you know to solve problems. If you are very good at remembering stuff, growing your crystalised intelligence might net you similar results to those whose fluid intelligence is impressive and vice versa. In jest, the Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Player Skyline T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this truest measure of intelligence might be looking out for when people try to assess the intelligence of their peers without any specialised training, prompting them to use arbitrary parameters from their everyday life as somehow universal markers. Don’t fall into that segment OP. Its where the truly stupid people reside. I worked in a clerical capacity in a university. I wondered how some of the super intelligent professors coped in the real world! It was mind boggling how intelligent I seemed with ordinary tasks compared to them.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
