In Tennis, your side of court cannot be trampled/accessed by the Nathan Eovaldi American professional baseball pitcher Texas Nate The Great T-Shirt Also,I will get this other player, this making all decisions from that side your own. Thus “the ball is in your court and im waiting for your move to react”, would make sense. In basketball, both team can be on both side of the court at any time. Saying the ball is in your court could also translate to “…and i have the ball and about to dunk on you, while you badly protect your half court..”. I believe the idea of court is what makes it feel like its a basketball term. it’s also dumb af. “the ball is in you court” is in reference to tennis. as in, “i’ve made my move now let’s see what you can do” In basketball, if the other team has the ball, you have to actively prevent them from scoring. The pressure is more on you, not them.

The pressure is definitely more on the Nathan Eovaldi American professional baseball pitcher Texas Nate The Great T-Shirt Also,I will get this attacker and not the defender in basketball. The fear of missing a shot when everyone is looking at you is bigger than the fear of getting scored on when you play defense There‘s literally discussions about players that crumble under pressure out of fear and players that thrive under pressure because they have no fear. It‘s really not an uncommon thing. But nobody ever talks about the defender being afraid of not stopping the attack. Because the whole focus will always be on the attacker. There‘s literally discussions about players that crumble under pressure out of fear and players that thrive under pressure because they have no fear. Usually at like, college level or below, sure. Professional they’re more accustomed to it. Sure there is pressure, but it’s not typically a topic of conversation that “the pressure got to him” when an NBA player misses a free throw or a shot. But nobody ever talks about the defender being afraid of not stopping the attack. Because the whole focus will always be on the attacker. That’s more social anxiety, which not everyone has. In terms of the actual game, the attacker has the definite advantage. Just ask any basketball team if they would rather start with the ball or let the opponent have the ball. I’m the nerd for not thinking a dude that broke into a groupchat to post memes and then said the cringiest line imaginable is cold af? You’re a dork.
